My Rockstar Boyfriend

I hate to admit it but I'm really missing on a lot.. =(

Cody has always been really into playing his guitar and recently he has gotten more and more involved with it. Playing with gigs all around bars, joining competition and all. He has his own band where he plays the second guitar. Recently they even performed in a JRock concert at Sunway Pyramid which is basically local bands getting together to play some Japanese songs.

Doesnt' it look grand?

I can't say much about the concert itself because first i wasn't there and second, I'm not really a big fan of punk rock music. Especially Japanese music. I'm all for Japanese culture and I'm even going to Japan for study abroad soon but this side of Japanese is a no-no for me. So no analysis about the songs or the bands here if you're looking for one.

Seeing the final pictures on facebook kinda makes me sentimental. On one hand, I'm really proud of what Cody is achieving. I mean, playing the guitar is his passion and to see him actually gaining some success in his passion makes me really happy for him. I sincerely proud of my little Cody for being so awesome! =)

Look at the audiences!!!

I sound like a proud little mother instead of a faraway girlfriend. =.=

On another hand, seeing the pictures makes me realize how much I'm missing out on a big part of Cody's life. I mean, I'm not a big fan of the music he plays and everything but if its important to him, its important to me too. Urgh.. I sound so mushy don't I? Dad.. don't read this. >.< Haha.. The closest I can get is through pictures on facebook and some youtube videos. I can never be physically there to cheer on Cody or tell him how great (or not so good =P) his performances were.

I know we're leading different lives and I'm glad that we're both doing our best to achieve our dreams but sometimes I wish that we could be physically together to celebrate each other's success instead of blogging on her blog saying how proud she is of her rockstar boyfriend. Lame! =(

What makes it even worst is reading other blog comments regarding the concert. Can you imagine reading some stranger's blog commenting about how cute your boyfriend was? I mean I know my boyfriend is cute and charming and everything (that's why he's my boyfriend!) but.. he's not out for the world!!! He's MINE!!! Wtf!!! =.=

Haha.. beware jealous girlfriend! *big evil smile*

Although I guess if I was really there, I would need to force myself to listen through a whole night of really loud punky rock music. That might not be such a good thing either. Haha.. at least now I have some excuse..

"What darling? You're performing in a concert? Em.. I'm sorry.. There was no available plane tickets on that day..."

No obligations! =)

But seriously though.. I'm really proud of my rockstar boyfriend. Even though I wasn't there to experience the performance, I'm sure you did an absolute great job! I just wished I was there because I will be ur absolute biggest fan!

F*cking long distance relationships!

I hate long distance relationship!!!

When its morning for one person and night for the other!!! Got such thing or not? Where got meaning lidat when you don't even share the same day let alone the same time?

Always being alone even on a gloomy day. I mean what can your other half do to solve your problem when they're all the way on the other side of the earth? Most times, they don't even bother hearing your problems coz they have their own problems to deal with and telling it to you through the phone just takes too much time..

Its like being a lonely duck swimming in a big beautiful pond but no one to share the happiness with.. (Though actually in real life, this little duck has a partner but the day this picture was taken, she was no where to be seen. Maybe they fought or something.)

AHHHH... You think dating for 5 years is easy and we are the perfect couple? Try being us then! You... "don't know anything better" people! Just because we have been going out for ages doesn't mean that its a bed of roses for us. Rather.. I think the problems are even bigger! When you first start dating, everything is sweet and the guy will do anything for the girl. Now.. he would rather die than be caught doing something sweet.

I want romance!!! I want a romantic boyfriend. I hate doing all the work!!! AHHHHH... I'm sooooo tired...

Ok.. I'm being totally unfair here but I'm freaking fed up of being in the other side of the world from my boyfriend. If you can even call him that since we only see each other freaking once a year!!! What the heck!!! How can this be called a relationship???

I hate waiting for the phone to ring hoping that its him calling!!! I don't want to do that anymore!!! I know.. you would answer "then why don't you call him?" Well.. What's the point?

Talk everyday so what? There's only so many things one can talk. Only so many times you can say "I miss you" without it sounding monotonous or meaningless. Only so many times before it becomes a chore or a responsibility that one needs to do to "fulfill" one's obligation!!!

Ahhhh..

*Breathes* I need to have a higher life condition. *Breathes*

At least I don't have to worry about that someone reading this post coz he never reads my blog anyway!

*I just need to concentrate on doing my readings right now and forget about everything!*

Screw long distance relationship!!!

My professor's love story

We were talking in class today about how different genre's of movies affect our lives.

Comedy in the sense that it is a natural procession of life, hero faces obstacles, hero grows from it, and hero marries the girl of his dreams and have lots of children. If you notice, all comedy ends in marriage.

Did u notice that?

Melodrama are basically stereotype lives and full of cliches. It is always predictable. How many times have u watched a drama and guessed correctly what was going to happen next? I know I did. Then why do we continue watching it? Its because we want to be assured that we are not alone in this world, that the problems that we face are also faced by people everywhere!!!

What about farce? Farce essentially blows things out of proportion. It mocks life, do the opposite of what is supposedly demanded from society and make it excessive.

Its breaks nature.

And you know what example my professor gave to show what is an example of farce? He told us that it is his wife birthday today and she doesn't want anyone to know her age because she feels sad that she is no longer as pretty and youthful as she was in her 20's, 30's, 40's and even 50's. Yup, I'm guessing she's around her 60's. She doesn't want anything to do with her birthday.

And do you know what he does?

He celebrates her birthday all the same, not for one day, but for A WEEK!!!! He gives her present every single day for the week to make her happy and feel good about it.

And he has done if for many years already.

He say he will do it no other way. Coz this makes her feel good. At least she is here or else he would be left all alone.

What is the alternative of growing old?

Dying.

You have to be alive to grow old.

How romantic is that?

Sigh.. I want to have this kinda husband too.. *hint*

Last Post In Malaysia

Sigh.. I can't believe this. My three months of summer holidays is over and I'm leaving for US next Tuesday. Being back in Malaysia has really been wonderful. I have grown to appreciate things that I have taken for granted 20 years of my life. Of course the most important thing is the food but everything else that makes Malaysia my home is something that I know I will never get in other countries.

But I think being in US for almost a year has also made me have feelings for that country too. I don't really know if I can call it my home but I know there's a tiny part in me that kinda misses California too. I have been kinda dreading to go back to US for the past month also. Every time I think about me returning back there, leaving my home Malaysia, it breaks my heart. Every meal I take I'll have to think, "is this the last time I'll be eating this?" "Will I still have any opportunity to come back to this place again?" But after being here for three months, I'm kinda ready to go back to US now.

The hardest thing is leaving Cody though. Sigh.. long distance relationship sucks!!! How do one bear not seeing, touching, smelling or feeling someone that you love for such a long period of time?

Sigh.. own dream versus love.

Why can't one have all?

Bye bye Malaysia

Feeling the blues..

Princess Shin is emo and confused now..

What is love? Why must two people to be together? What does it mean to be in a relationship? Is love eternal? Or is it just a passing phrase? Is there such thing as soul mate, one person in the whole world that fits you? Or can you fall in and out of love easily?

4 and a half years.

What does that mean to you?

Father daughter Relationship

What I love about my dad is how he always shares with me his stories about what is going on in his work. Even though we are far apart and we rarely talk lately because of the time difference and our busy schedule, every time we do chat thru skype, he always tends to relate the topic that we are talking about to the current problem that his company is facing at the moment. From his colleague's temperate personalities, to his hard-pleasing boss, I always love having him share his stories to him. Though sometimes I think he should go for corporate performance management courses. =)

I'm so blessed to have a dad like him that actually strives to have a relationship with his children. I'm sure we have all heard about the stereotypical 'Chinese' dad who watches TV and read newspaper all day long and doesn't talk to the children at all. If he has anything to say to the children, it will always go through the mum. I do have friends who has fathers like that. I'm not saying those fathers are terrible but my dad is the best! =)

Mother's Day Pressie!

I know this is a bit long overdue but I'm gonna dedicate my this post to my mum.

Ever since our maid ran away over half a year back, my mum has stopped cooking! Really! We have been eating out every single day for the past 6 months! I mean EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

You can imagine how sick I am of outside food! No matter how nice it is. I am totally and utterly fed up with it.

You may think that my mum is a terrible and lousy cook but on the contrary she is actually a good cook. Granted she's not the world's renowned chef and can't cook tens and hundreds of gourmet dishes.. like Bree, but she has her famous dishes. And I'm a big fan of it.

The problem is just she doesn't want to cook. Because she complains that she has no one cleaning after her and it makes her kitchen dirty.

I can hear you say why don't I go and help her. Well, you also have to understand that my mum is a super fussy lady and she feels that she has to do things herself even if I'm helping her. Coz I'm not good enough.

Or something lidat. I don't really know the reason why she doesn't want to cook!

I get so frustrated sometimes that I just wanna go into the kitchen and cook up a storm. The only problem is I have no idea how.

Maybe some of you can give me some cooking lessons.

Anyway, the thing is that I have always felt very angry with her. Felt that she is not good enough or frustrated with her inability to provide food for her family.

And though sometimes I do show my unhappiness towards her, most of the time I don't really dare. She is still my mother right? I can't say she's a terrible mom.

But today, for the first time, while we were having lunch at one of the indian restaurants in Center Point, she confided in me saying that she is also very tired of outside food. She actually said,

"I think I'm gonna cook today!"

Wow.. I almost fainted out of shockness and joy! I'm serious! I knew I was threading on sensitive territory here. Any wrong move and she may get angry and take back her offer.

Quickly I suggested a few things she can cook and talked to her in my most cheerful and happy manner! My mum was gonna cook!!!

And for the first time in almost 1 year, we went into the vegetable section in the supermarket and actually bought food from there!

Goodness gracious me. This is all so new and foreign to me! =)

That evening, I actually helped my mum chop up the long beans (my very first time), stir up the eggs, washed the dishes, washed the kuali, wash the rice, cook the rice, clean the veggies, and later after all was done, wipe the table and wash the dishes.

Goodness, my back is aching now!!!

And I'm all smelly and sticky!

But the result was wonderful! I never had home cooked food for god knows how long! Even my daddy was pleased! No.. change that. My daddy was super pleased. Imagine coming back to a house with home cooked food!!!

Wow... =)

And I can really say I fully appreciate my mum now. It's really not easy cooking a meal. I know. I just did that. And I was merely a helper. She actually did all the cooking! She was in the kitchen from 4-7pm. I only went in and out coz I didn't know what to do. And even that I have back aches now.

Cooking is really not a easy thing. Wat more every single day!

Sorry mum.. And thanks mum for cooking for us all these years. I know now that it's hard work without a maid. So I won't complain of eating out anymore.

I'll try not to complain. Okay?

Too bad she doesn't read my blog. And I don't think I'll tell this to her face to face. But Thanks mum! =)

Here's the Mother's Day pressie I gave my mum!

Nice anot? I make myself wan! Hehe.. All Rights Reserved!

And this is the whole thing. Cost me quite a sum! Hehe..

Don't you just love Tous? I absolutely love the bear! You think it's nice?

It's the Mother of Pearl. Just like my mum! ^.^

This is it's 'butt!' So cute! Got tattoo wan!

Did you know that when you buy something from Tous, they actually give you a certificate? To prove that you actually bought something from them. Oooh.. I love TOUS!

Suffice to say she was really happy with my pressie. In my card, I wrote that I'll really miss her when I go over to the States. And I have no idea what am I gonna do.

It's hard to tell her face to face on these kinda intimate feelings. We're still Asians right? No excuse I know. But seriously, just writing this down here now is bringing tears to my eyes. I have always looked forward to the day of going overseas to study. New culture and everything. But now that it is slowly looming close, I can't imagine how hard it would be for me.

My mum literally feeds me everything. I am nothing without her. I can't function properly without her. She is there for me for everything. How can I live without her? How am I gonna function properly?

Oh dear oh dear...

I am so gonna miss her.

Happy Mother's Day mummy! I love ya..

Saying Goodbye..

After so many times of doing this it still feels terrible. Like a part of you is gone together. I know this sounds cliché and all but..

Sigh… I hate this!!! I dunno how many times of saying goodbye I can take.

I picked him up from the LRT either on Fridays or Saturdays, spent almost the entire weekend doing things together, squeezing every second and making the most out of it but before you know it, the weekend is over and I have to send him off again. And the cycle goes on and on and on.

I know I should count my lucky stars because I get to see him for a few days a month. Maybe even a week if you add up all the days together but saying goodbye is always the hardest! And I can't even imagine later when I wont get to see him for maybe the next 4 years!

Though I know after a few hours I would be feeling all right and work hard to make myself single again but it’s just so tiring!!! >.<

Though I think I'm improving on it.. It's like I make myself harden and not be affected by it. To push away all the emotions and not think about it.

Not that I would exchange it for something else… He needs an education and I don’t live there but… +.+

And I know I can’t complain because in another 3 months time, I would be off to the other side of the world and god knows when we would see each other again! And that would be even worst right?

Or would it?

At least then my heart would get use to it and not feel the pain so much. Don’t you think so? Would I get used to the absence and not feel so terrible?

Or is it because I don’t have much to do here so all my mind can think of is this. If I am the one studying I would not be so affected by this. Like him! I see him taking it really very well..

Or is it?

I know what a lot of you may say. That we both will change and develop into different people and our priorities may change and we may not be suitable for each other anymore. That we're still young and.. yada yada yada..

I know that.. But there is always hope right? There are like 1 successful story out of 10 right? Not sure whether I'll be the 1 percent anot but I will like to try!

Do you know of any successful long distance relationship? Not those kind that one is in Seremban and one is in Selangor. More like one is in KL and the other in London or something lidat.

Come on.. share some with me so I will at least think that I have hope.. =(

Okay?

Sigh… Relationships are hard.

Separations

It’s been quite a while since I last posted here. Thousand apologies. =) So many things seem to be happening lately.

Ok... Not 'soo' many... just a few.

I have been to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) twice this week! And let me tell you KLIA is not a place where you just go just because you like it. It’s a good 1 hour drive from where I stay.

I went there on Sunday night to send off one of my Buddhist gal-friend, YW. I have known her for maybe around 8 years but we recently got closer coz of the activities we have organized together. She's a very friendly and super cheerful gal. And judging by the number of people that sent her off that day I'm sure I wasn't the only one that thinks that way. She always brings sunlight into people's life. Whenever she's around, she will definitely bring up the atmosphere of the place and lift up everyone's spirit. I guess that is what makes her so popular. There were about 20 people sending her off. And almost everyone cried. Including me...

Boohoo...

So touching! >.<

I wonder what my farewell would be like? One hand, I would prefer to have just my family around so I can cry and spent my last moments with them. Especially with my boyfriend. I mean that would really be our last moment, if the whole world is there, I would feel really awkward. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind having a bunch of friends sending me off. Quite grand. Don't ya think so? Hehe... And on Tuesday, I went to KLIA again. This time to send my best friend off. The one that I said has been studying here in Malaysia. Now she's going over to Queensland to get her degree. She's gonna be there for a year. But by the time she comes back, I may not be in Malaysia anymore. So I really dunno when I will see her again. Thinking about that makes me so sad. We have been best friends for so many years. Since I was 14. That's like 6 years. And now I dunno when I'll see her again.

Tears started flowing when I gave her the last hug before she went into the terminal. I couldn't stop myself. Just thinking that I am gonna lost my best gal-friend really broke my heart.

But the heartless gal din shed a tear.

Black Heartless gal! Hmph!

Hope she settles in there nicely though... Really miss her. Though we have our different lives now, she in college and me em... not doing anything much now... but we still talk and share our problems occasionally.

I MISS HER!!! >.<>

The next one will be the hardest of all...

How am I gonna leave my sweetheart behind?

Millionaire Dating site

It is so hard to find love nowadays. A clash of interest, religion, philosophy and the relationship is down the drain.

What more if you're a millionaire. How would you know whether the person you're dating currently is not after your money? How would you know the person that you're so called in love with is actually secretly wishing that you fall dead right after you finish writing a will?

Ok.. call me morbid or a pessimist but this IS the realities of life right?

So how do you go around with this? Well.. the best way is to look for a partner that is equally as rich as you. Then you don't have to worry about anything at all. Both are you are equally wealthy so there will be no mistrust between both of you. Problem solved.

Where do you find people that are equally rich too? Well.. None other than Millionaire Dating. This is a dating site for single millionaires, and men and women looking to meet them.

Have fun looking for your partner! =)

Rules for Choosing a Life Partner

Relationship can be so hard nowadays. How do u know that he/she is your soul mate? It may be all nice and sweet and a bed of roses now but will things still be the same 10 years down the road? Or even maybe just 1 year down the road?

What consists of a happy and healthy relationship?

I once read this somewhere,

"Love isn't just two people gazing at each other, but two people looking into the future together"

Forget who was the writer but it was something lidat. I really agree with it...

Just wanna share with you guys something I read! =)

Rules for Choosing a Life Partner

QUESTION # 1: Do we share a common life purpose? Why is this so important?

Let me put it this way: If you're married for 20 to 30 years, that's a long time to live with someone. What do you plan to do with each other all that time? Travel, eat,sex and jog together? You need to share something deeper and more meaningful. You need a common life purpose.

Two things can happen in a marriage.
1. You can grow old together, or

2. You can grow apart... 50 % of the people out there are growing apart. To make a marriage work, you need to know what you want out of life - bottom line - and marry someone who wants the same thing. If the person you're in love with doesn't want the same thing as you do; you might as well get out of it now than when its too late.

QUESTION # 2:Do I feel safe expressing my feelings and thoughts with this person?

This question goes to the core of the quality of your relationship. Feeling safe means you can communicate openly with this person. The basis of having good communication is trust. i.e trust that I won't get "punished" or hurt for expressing my honest thoughts and feelings. A colleague of mine defines an abusive person as someone with whom you feel afraid to express your thoughts and feelings. Be honest with yourself on this one. Make sure you feel emotionally safe with the person you plan to marry.

QUESTION # 3:Is he/she a mensch?

A mensch is someone who is a refined and sensitive person. How can you test? Here are some suggestions: Do they work on personal growth on a regular basis? Are they serious about improving themselves? A teacher of mine defines a good person as "someone who is always striving to be good and do the the right." So ask about your significant other: What do they do with their time? Is this person materialistic? Usually a materialistic person is not someone
whose top priority is character refinement. There are essentially two types of people in this world: People who are dedicated to personal growth and people who are dedicated to seeking comfort. Someone whose goal life is to be comfortable will put personal comfort ahead of doing the right thing. You need to know that before Walking down the aisle.

QUESTION # 4: How does he/she treat other people?

The one most important thing that makes any relationship work is the ability to give. By giving, we mean the ability to give another person pleasure. Ask: Is this a person who enjoys giving pleasure to others or are they wrapped up in themselves and
self-absorbed ? To measure this, think about the following:

1. How do they treat people whom they do not have to be nice to, such as waiters, busboy, taxi driver, etc.?

2. How do they treat parents and siblings? Do your parents and siblings like/adore them? Have you received any bad comment/remarks about them?

3. Do they have gratitude and appreciation?

4. Do they show respect? Do they respect your opinions or let you know when you go over the line? Are they truly honest with you, even if you don't like facts that hurt? If they don't have gratitude for the people who have
given them everything, you cannot expect that they'll have gratitude for you-who cant do nearly as much for them !

5. Do they gossip and speak badly about others? Someone who gossips and bad-mouths cannot be someone who loves others. Has the person simply left anyone for you? Has that someone lied to/with/because of you? You can be sure that someone who treats others poorly, will eventually treat you poorly as well.

QUESTION # 5: Is there anything I'm hoping to change about this person after we're married?

Too many people make the mistake of marrying someone with the intention of trying to "improve" them after they're married. As a colleague of mine puts it, "You can probably expect someone to change after marriage and for the worse!" If you cannot fully accept this person the way they are now, then you are not ready to marry them. There is no point in putting restrictions on your life partner. If you love him/her you will accept him/her as they are.In conclusion, selecting your partner doesn't have to be difficult and treacherous. The key is to try leading a little more with your head and less with your heart. It pays to be as objective as possible when you are selecting, to be sure to ask questions that will help you get to the key issues. Falling in love is a great feeling, but when you wake up with a ring on your finger, you don't want to find yourself in trouble because you didn't do your homework.

I'm not sure whether I fufill all this criteria as a girlfriend. But I'll definitely try my best! =)

True love arises from two people's determination to share their lives together, and from the wisdom gained from aspiring from the future.

Romantic Letters

How to write Love Letters? Do people still write love letters nowadays? With all the high tech gadgets and communication being so easily essesible, do people still write down their inner most feelings with pen and paper?

Nowadays you can find everything you want on the internet! Romance for Everyone is one of the new sites that i found. They even have a website, Romantic Love Letters, that teaches you how to write love letters! They have a library full of love letters for you to read and gain inspirations for.

I went and visit the site and found a few love letters that I think is quite romantic. One of them, titled 'My Heart' was written by a guy to his sweetheart before she went on a business trip.

My Dear Sweet Tammy,

I thought I would let you know that my love for you is burning very brightly this afternoon. My heart longs for you. My heart longs to leap at the sound of your voice. My heart longs to be filled with joy by your smile.

Check it out if you wanna continue reading it further... =)

They have other stuff too... Romance tips, relationship articles, eHarmony dating tips for men, eHarmony dating tips for women... I found a very interesting article, "How to Write a Dear John Letter". You know what's a Dear John letter? A Dear John letter is a goodbye letter written by a woman to a man.

I didn't know that.

They actually give u tips on how to write a compassionate Dear John letter. Interesting right?

I never really receive any love letters before. As I said before, what with all the e-mails, sms... Love letters are almost extinct! And I don't really blame them. Who wants to write love letters anymore? But when I think about all the love letters that my mum actually received from my dad when he was away in London to study, I am actually very envious of her. She still has them and imagine after so many years you can still take them out and carefully read and savor each sentence again.

So maybe we should revive the tradition again and start writing love letters! Valentine's Day is coming right? =)

I love you. The story of us.

*Warning* Long and boring post ahead. Read at your own risk*

I was the goody two shoes girl and you were the boy that all teachers remember. Not because you were a brilliant role model student but because you were the naughtiest in class. Teacher had to constantly call out your name and give multiple warnings for you to behave.

I was the girl that sat down quietly with my own group of galfriends at the right hand corner of the classroom. Never moving around in class or mixing with other boys. You were the boy that sat right in front of the teacher’s table at the right hand corner of the classroom so that the teacher can closely monitor you. You never ever came over to my side. I didn’t go over to your side.

We were in different worlds.

That was year 1999.

5 years later and being in the same class 4 out of those 5 times, somehow or rather…

We got together. Right after Form 5. Right after our SPM examinations. Right when we had to choose our next education path. Where should I go after high school?

The goody 2 shoes gal with the boy that is famous with the entire board of discipline teachers and his second home BEING the disciplinary room!

I was shocked myself too… Is this possible? Will this work? What am I thinking?

Everyone started to ask me, “Shin, are you sure you wanna be with him?”

I wasn’t sure myself too but somehow…

Then, we went into Form 6 together and those 2 years were the best. Some people dislike being in the same school let alone in the same class together. But being in the same class meant that I could steal a glance at him whenever I feel like it.

Though most of the time he would be dozing off. =.=

And hanging out together whenever we can when the teacher was absent.

Complaining about our teachers together. Discussing about the happenings in school and gossiping about our friends together.

And having our recess together. Taking turns to eat with our respective group of friends. But which ever group that we choose, either of us would be the only gal or guy on that table. =)

Stressing for our STPM together. Trying mighty hard and making numerous efforts to go to the state library and study. But failing most of the time. He always fell asleep halfway. Him helping me with Physics and Mathematics though I always couldn’t understand what he was trying to tell me. I love it all the same.

Wishing each other good luck before every examinations and asking each other what answers we put on those tricky questions. Going to tuitions together. Him being the driver. =) Letting our teachers tease both of us knowing fully well that we are together.

Bracing ourselves for our STPM results and finally taking it together. Us being totally terrified that we would fail everything. Luckily both our results were okay. Proving to our family that we can juggle studies and relationship together.

Spending the next 6 months working part time jobs. Tackling jobs challenges together. Being totally uncertain with our future. Should we apply for the same university? What if we don’t get into the same university?

Finally, fate bringing him to study all the way in Malacca and me in Selangor. Which by the way was 2 hours drive! No problem right I hear you say. We were so used to seeing each other every single day, doing every single thing together. Now…

But we survived. He came back every weekend and we use what remaining days we have to catch up on each others life.

Now, my family would be migrating to Vietnam soon and if all goes well I would be studying in US this August. I may never come back. I never know. What should we do?

Everyone is asking me this question. What about him?

I have no answers to this question. What can I say? I know I will try my utmost best to make this relationship work out. I believe that if we are meant to be we will be together no matter what.

Every adult I meet will advised me to not close my heart at such a young age. There's plenty of fishes out there. I should go out and explore. I will definitely change my mindset when I grow older.

But what if I already find a perfect guy?

I love that he will always leave the last mouth of every dish for me.

I love that he has a totally babyish side of him that makes him funny yet adorable at the same time. Making me laugh every moment.

I love that he took 3 A4 papers to make a card for me coz I complained to him that he didn’t make anything for me. It wasn’t any Hallmark card but its better than anyone put together.

I love that he prepared steamboat for me at his house all by himself juz coz I said I love steamboat.

I love that he bought me a bouquet of roses and sent it over to my house by delivery on Valentine’s Day and then sat a cab to get to the place I was working at tat time to wish me Happy Valentine’s Day.

I love that he recorded songs that he sang together with his guitar and sent it through the internet so I could save it into my mp3 and listen to it while I was on vacation.

I love that he fetched me to school every single day for 2 years even though it was out of his way.

I love that he was the one that suggested that we took sticker photo together even though I wasn’t to keen on it. Now I am the one to persuade him though…

I love that he buys me breakfast every time he comes over to my house.

I love that he called everyone in our class on how to boil porridge and sent it over to my house the first time I was sick.

I love that he prepared Vitamin C for me every morning in a bottle so I can drink in class.

I love that he put little love notes in my pencil case when I wasn’t looking.

I love that I see resemblance in him and in my father. His character and thoughts.

I love that he is totally comfortable with my family. Even my dad jokes with him now...

I love that everytime I feel our relationship will not last, he will do or say something to ensure me that we can get through this.

I love that he shares with me whenever he feels that there's some girl in his university that he thinks have the hots for him. No problem man! =| I can take it!

I love that he tells me stories of his friends in the university even though I have never met them.

I love that he is my best friend and I can confide everything in him.

I love that I know he will always be there for me.

I love that he is my highschool sweetheart.

Happy Anniversary Cody.

Love,
Shin.

Where there's life, there's love

Somebody sent me an e-mail titled 'appreciate life'. Well.. thought of sharing this with u guys too.. quite heart warming pictures. Kinda makes you feel how fortunate we are right? =)

Photo 1: Together, through Warm and Cold

(Photographer: An Hejie. Market Place, Town of Chifeng, Inner Mongolia)

Beyond the northern (Inner Mongolia) frontier, spring has arrived but the
cold weather lingered on. Snow fell on this April morning. Flakes danced
in the sky. A middle-aged man tended to his cart, on which sat a little
boy, wrapped up with blanket used to keep the vegetables from freezing.
From time to time, the father would tuck at the blanket to make sure that
his son was all right. These are the words from the photographer: "Set in
the dark and shadowy background and the dancing snow flakes, the pink
puffy face of the little boy stood out in great contrast to that of the
father which was apparently shaped by the caprices of life. And life was
indeed harsh. Father and son only have each other for support. When the
father yelled out a sales pitch on top of his voice, his facial expression
was shockingly touching. One cannot help but be moved."

Photo 2: Love

The father and his son live in an impoverished hilly area. They demand nothing but a piece of land to call their own. Perhaps they will not havea chance to see the outside world all their lives -- they will not knowwhat a staircase is, they will never ride in a taxi, nor will they ever step into a movie theater. But the truth is these are the people who offerus everything our lives depend on, generation after generation. The heavenand earth have nothing to repay them. Love them! At least respect them in your heart. Otherwise how can we possibly talk about ourselves as human beings?

Photo 3: Grandpas'Tears

(Caption on the photo: That day, we found that we were able to attend
school. We were so happy. But grandpa cried. Do you understand? The tears
of an elderly man...) This semester has been dealt with, what about the next?

Photo 4

Amidst Rain and Wind Your elderly mother and little children are waiting for you to come homewith the day's wages.

Photo 5: Mothers' Love

Mothers and their child.
This is life.

Photo 6: Coal Carrier

Wang Zhizhong worked as a coal carrier. Carrying a basket of coal
weighting 40kg (88 lb), he made his way up a 100m deep mine, and then
walked a distance of 1000m along a mountainous track. For each trip, he
made 1RMB (0.125 USD). He was 17.

Photo 7: Old Man Crying

The old man sells roast yam for a living. Because he doesn't have a
license, his tools were confiscated and his tricycle was smashed, its
chain cut. All the old man can do is to sit there and cry. Tomorrow.

Photo 8:

Caption on the photo: That day the English teacher arrived in our village.
She taught us our very first sentence in English: "I want go to school."

Did you hear it? It is a most heart-moving cry.

Photo 9:

No rose, no diamond ring, but if this is not love, what is love?

With enthusiasm, love your life! Love the people around you!

I find this picture the most touching. How many times do we complain that our partner doesn't do this or do that? Not being romantic enough, not giving flowers for our birthday, not being caring enuff, not understanding us but in actual fact it is the little things tat counts. Can we be there for each other when there's nothing left? When all we have is juz each other? Unconditional love, giving without asking anything in return. Tat's beautiful. =)

On another note, I finally found out why i couldn't upload any pictures, i was using Internet Explorer! Lousy internet explorer.. Went and downloaded Mozila and now everything is perfect! =) Even my layout is beautiful now! Hooray!
