Twilight Obsession

Oh my god.. I'm utterly and absolute obsessed with the Twilight series. You have no idea.




I first heard about Twilight a year ago when I went into the bookstore with one of my friend and she was gushing about how much she loves the story. I didn't have any interest at all whatsoever at that time. I mean what would be so interesting about a love story between a vampire and a human being?




Yeah.. what is so special about a guy being able to climb trees with an amazing speed and bringing you to the top of the world?




Or be able to protect you no matter what happens?




Or wanting to spend every single moment with you without feeling bored?

Big deal. Another Harry Potter craze. I have enough of that.

But then.. the movie came out.




I didn't even intend to watch it. I mean what's the big deal?

But then it became such a big thing! Everyone was talking about it. Students in my school went for the first screening at 12 midnight even though it was one week to finals!!!

So I went and watch it. Not because of anything but because I just wanted to see what was all the fuss about. And oh my god.. I'm officially hooked now.

Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is ABSOLUTELY and UTTERLY CUTE!!! Ahhhh... My knees melted when I first saw him. How can anybody be so adorable? Oh my god....

Remember him from Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory?

The show was wonderful. Maybe I'm still a teenager at heart but I'm crazy over the show. I even wanna watch it again!!! And the first thing I wanted to do after the movie was to read the second book of the series.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it. I mean I wasn't that obsessed yet. What would I do with a random second book? I didn't thought I wanted to get the third or fourth book immediately. Besides that, I don't like reading books again. And I already have so much rubbish to get rid of when I graduate.

But when I went to Target the other day, I couldn't stop myself and I bought the second book, New Moon anyways. And if in the beginning I said I was obsessed, now I'm.. I can't even think of a suitable word for more obsessed.




I read the book till 9am today. I didn't sleep the whole night!!! Though after that I slept and ended up waking at 5pm. My days are officially out of sync. I can't get enough of it.

I went for dinner and went to Borders straight wanting to buy the third book, Eclipse. But it's so expensive. =( The paperback version is not out yet. And its freaking 20 dollars for the hardback copy and 23 dollars for Breaking Dawn.

So I ended up sitting in Starbucks with a cup of hot chocolate enjoying my book still Borders closed. But I only had 2 hours so I didn't really get enough of it.

I'm going to buy the books online from Amazon because I can get both Eclipse and Breaking Dawn for 24 dollars. Much much cheaper than getting it in the bookstore. The only downside is that I'll only get it a week later. So meanwhile, I think I'm gonna continue going to Borders to read the book.

Like I said. I'm obsessed. I have never been so obsessed about a book before.

I want a vampire as a boyfriend too. I want to have my version of Edward. Wahahaha..

I think I'm officially crazy..

I know I'm a hopeless romantic. I guess that's why I love this book so much. I guess I never grew up in terms of romance story. Compared to Harry Potter, the Twilight series is basically just a love story. But what makes it sooo special is the intensity of their romance. The eternity of their existence. Who can truly say they can live with someone for an eternity? No matter what happens. Even a hopeless romantic like me can't say that for certain.

Who wouldn't melt when the love of your "existence" tells you..

I can't live in a world where you don't exist.

Sigh...

Ants Invasion!!!

I can't believe this. Yup. Ants have officially invaded my room. Specifically my bathroom. Its terrible! I went to San Diego for one night and when I came back the day after, my bathroom was filled with ants.



Literally. They were all over the bath tub. You can't believe how I felt. I was totally panicking. I tried looking for the source of food, coz maybe I left food or something but I couldn't find anything. They were all over my sink, my counter, all the glasses... EVERYTHING!!!

I actually googled up ants invasion and it seems that some ants invade homes when the weather outside is cold and wet!!! No wonder!!! My room is nice, warm and dry!!!

I immediately called a friend who had similar experience and he told me to get a liquid bait. He told me Target or Walmart may have it. But since it was Christmas day, only CVS was open. =.= And I was forced to buy another kind of bait.

Totally useless!

Surface to say it was totally useless. The ants didn't like those at all. And the next day the ants were still there. More than ever! I asked my dad for advice and all he told me was pour hot water onto them.

I couldn't really do that. You know why?

Because damn US bathroom doesn't have any drain for the water to flow out! So if I pour hot water onto the floor, it'll juz flood the whole bathroom.

I thought about vacumming it. But what would I do with the bag? What if they're still alive?

Urgh.. I don't even wanna think about it.

I eventually went to Target and bought this.

The liquid version of an ant bait. In the beginning, the ants didn't really liked it. However, the next day..

They liked it!!! And they are all dead now! wahahaha..

And the ants have significantly decrease!!! Hooray!!! Seems that not only will they eat it and die, they will go back to their nest and kill everyone first. Wahahhaa...

Hope I'm not creating bad karma!

Its lonely facing this by myself. My roommate has left for home and there's nobody to help me.

At least the ants are not going into my room. Stupid ants. =( I dont like them. I hope they get out soon. My room is not an orphanage or a shelter home for ants!!!

Japanese Internment Camps

Did you know that the Japanese were once put into internment camps in the U.S because they were thought to betray the U.S during the Second World War?

These Japanese Americans who were essentially American citizens were forced to evacuate from their homes, give up everything that they own and move to internment camps mainly in the West Coast. The first of these internment camps, which is now termed "concentration camps" is in Manzanar, somewhere in California.

The Executive Order 9066 was issued in February 19th, 1942 by then President Franklin Roosevelt to put these Japanese descendants into camps because of "military necessity." Even though there was no evidence of any disloyalty among these Japanese people and 2/3 of these people were actual American citizens, they were still forcibly put into the camps. They were only all released in 1945. The constitution that claims that all citizens have "equal protection of the law" was not taken into account.

Although they were not tortured in any ways like the concentration camps in Germany. These Japanese people lost everything they had. They were forced to give up their properties, houses, and business to live in these military barracks just because the U.S government doubted their loyalty. They didn't even have any prove of any disloyalty from these Japanese people. Most of internees were little children.

Some say that the Americans have all the right to discriminate against the Japanese for what they had done in Pearl Habor. Even today, the old generations of Malaysians still hate the Japanese for what they had done during the Second World War.

However, the U.S government didn't do anything towards the German immigrants even though the U.S were at war with German at that time.

So was the discrimination purely based upon race or the nationality?

Talented Connie Talbot

Have you heard about this young girl? If you havent, you must be hiding under a coconut tree or something. Though to tell you the truth, I just came across her today while browsing through videos in youtube.

She's only 7 years old now and is already producing her own album.

She got her famed through the reality show "Britain's Got Talent" with none other than the infamous Simon Cowell.

You should see her audition. She has a voice of an angel.. So sweet and innocent.

My only hope is that she doesn't let fame get to her head and end up like one of those teen stars that goes in and out of rehab.

Is too much fame bad for a young kid? Only time can tell but right now.. she's awesome!!!

Weirdness in Nature

I saw this weird lizard the other day. Not sure if you call it a lizard but..

Sooo..... weird....



Wonder what happen to him???

Did he go for a blue tan or something? Like its a new fashion for the lizarding world? To have a cool blue tail?




Or is he some freak of nature? That all his lizard friends are making fun of him and he's all alone now. Which probably explains it coz I saw him all alone on the side of the road in my university.

If u notice, even his little feet are blue!!!

Hmmmm... So many possibilities..

Just as long as he is happy. I'm good with that. =)

Peace for China Or Tibet

The Tibetan Issue.

I always think that there is two side to every story. But that does not mean that both sides are equally right or wrong. We have to choose a side to take on. However, which ever side that we choose, we have to make sure that we are well-equipt with knowledge to make sure that we're making the right judgments. Don't just make a decision based on what we hear or read. Make sure that we know inside out on the issue that we're fighting about.

All sides will have their own story to tell. Whether it is to deceive others into believing their story or to get empathy from the public, it is essential that we do enough research to make sure that we are not easily deceived by facts that are thrown around to get people's attention.

I'm not saying that the Chinese are totally wrong in not liberating the Tibetans. And that the international public shouldn't put China in the "bad guys" box. But sometimes.. there are more things that meets the eye. If we're not there to experience it ourselves, how can we say anything? How do we truly know how the Tibetans are really feeling if we're not there ourselves?

That's not to say that the Chinese doesn't have any human rights violation or that they're not ill treating the Tibetans but..



Life is complicated. I just hope that both countries, does not matter which side wins, will get along peaceful and harmoniously. With its people able to achieve happiness in life.

I never knew I would do this but recently I have joined the Taiko club in my university. For those not very inteligent people.. (=P), taiko is a type of traditional Japanese drum which is played by the Japanese. (duh!) The Chinese have one like that too, I think. I remember seeing the Chinese Society in my high school performing during school events and though I would enjoy the performance, I always thought they were kinda monster-like! Screaming like crazy people and jumping here and there!

And here I am, a soft princess joining Taiko! =.=

I joined it last semester because I was totally blown away by the performance the Taiko members gave during my orientation week. And to tell u the truth, I didn't really enjoyed it in the beginning coz we only played on tyres (coz drums are too preciously expensive) and the first few practices were boring.

This is not me.. Just some picture I stole randomly.

But now.. when we are starting to be better and starting to perform.. Wow.. The feeling is amazing. The feeling of playing the drums, being totally concentrated on playing your part of the music, just blows me away.

Its not easy playing the drums, I can tell you this. First your arms have to be really strong because you have to continuously hit the drums with the drumsticks. And you have to make sure you form is good, no half way arms here! We need straight arms! Not to mention the rhythm that we have to memorize! It takes me ages to get the music down. And to play it fast! Goodness gracious me! After the whole performance is over, you can feel your hand burning! Literally.

Someone actually told me that you know you had a good practice when by dinner time, you can't hold your food tray because your arms hurt too much.

How true.. how true..

Anyway, we're going to perform for a teacher's conference tonight for around 800 people! I can't describe to you how nervous I am! I can't screw up because it will bring the whole team down but I'm not good enough! Argh....

Not to mention that this will probably be the first time many people will be actually knowing what our school is. But.. no pressure there! Yup!!! Absolutely NONE!

Argh.. Wish me luck! Hope I don't suck!
