One thing good though about my Canon SX10IS is that it uses rechargeable batteries. Though recently, I don't know what is wrong with my batteries since it dies after an hour of use even though I have charged it for hours without end.
I highly suspect that its time for me to change batteries. But seriously though, its really convenient using camera batteries rechargeable especially those AA ones because you can buy them anywhere you are. And if you can't find the rechargeable ones because you're in the middle of one small town in South America, I'm pretty sure you can find those normal AA ones too. It make take you only a few hours to drain it but at least you can still use your camera.
