Drug Rehab

Drugs can be such a scary thing. We all know the effects of drugs and all that but how many of us truly know what it feels like to be an addict? Every time we open up the newspaper, we read tens and thousands of people caught for drug trafficking or some random guy on the street died of drug overdose.

We tell our children and friends never ever to take drugs. To not even try it. Curiosity will kill the cat.

But what about those that are already addicted?

Lots of people don't know this but my mom's brother is a drug addict. My mum used to tell me that her brother was the perfect guy. He was fun and gentle and he wrote great stories. He's flair of writing was always interesting and thought provoking. My mum always cried when she read his stories. But somewhere along the way he started mixing with the wrong people and that was the beginning of his troubled life.

He started taking drugs and even went into jail for a while. According to my mum I have seen him before when I was a baby.

We don't know where he is now. Maybe lying on the streets somewhere in Malaysia. Or not..

Nobody knows.

But drugs are seriously scary stuff. And to stop the addiction once you are hooked is no easy task. However there's a lot of help out there if you are willing to find it.

Drug Detoxification is one of the ways. Toxins from the use of drugs and alcohol can remain trapped in fatty tissue for years, slowly accumulating. Detoxification is when you removed and clean this build-up of drug metabolites. The specific drug detoxification program used at Narconon Stone Hawk is the "Narconon New Life Detoxification Program".

This program has been proven to be very effective in removing all the toxins from the body because if it is not removed, these toxins may be stimulated later in life and the addictive cravings may start all over again. By eliminating all the toxins, not only will the person be more healthy, the chances of the person ever having the need for drugs again will be very slim.

The process of detoxifying the body include long periods of time in a dry sauna, proper diet, exercise and supplementation. Completion of it will enable them to have increased mental clarity, and free themselves of the depression created by the chemical imbalance of the residues of drug use.

Drugs are certainly a way to get away from the troubles and challenges of life. But life isn't about running away from problems. Only by facing our problems head on can we truly say that we are living life.
