My mentor, President Toda, was always a friend and ally of those who were suffering or in pain. He warmly embraced each person. Once, he offered the following words of encouragement to a member: "Don't be impatient. Since you have embraced the Gohonzon, your situation will definitely improve. There's no need to worry. Sure, there will be hard times, times when you feel like crying. But as long as you have the Gohonzon, your life will become bright and joyful.

In the Gosho, it states: "when the skies are clear, the ground is illuminated. Similarly, when one knows the Lotus Sutra, one understands the meaning of all worldly affairs" (WND-I, 376)

Therefore, you will know and understand what it is you have to do, what is the best thing to do, with regard to your business or whatever your problem is. It will become clear what needs to be done, and you will surely become happy. So the only thing to do is have strong faith in the Gohonzon."

As long as we persevere in faith, we will become happy. We must never doubt this, no matter what happens, but always advance resolutely, staunchly enduring all hardships and obstacles along the way. This is what true faith is.
