Birthday Celebrations

Birthdays are a big thing back in SUA. For some weird reason, birthday celebrations have to be big and exaggerated to tell the person that we love them. So its always up to the close friends of the birthday girl or boy to plan something big. If the celebration is not a success, the birthday girl or boy will feel small and unloved.

Big pressure right?

For Jenny's birthday, who is one of my close friend, we decided to celebrate her birthday at the stroke of midnight using a bunch of candles to arrange her name. We bought about 180 candles from the supermarket and I think it cost about USD 10 dollars. Then we planned an elaborate "treasure hunt" for her that will ultimately lead her to a place where all of our friends were gathered.

It was really sweet. I think she really liked it. =) Although after that we didnt do anything at all anymore because we were too busy packing for the summer.

Notice the "love?" The girls arranged it with the 180 candles!

Using candle was really a great idea. Although I don't really know where all those candles went after that, all 180 of them. But it was really cool to see ur name glow in the dark with a bunch of candles. It would definitely be super romantic too if someone *hint* used candles to do some romantic thing too. Remember the house of candles in Grey's Anatomy? Sigh.. romantic.

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Bitching Time!

Argh... So I haven't really been blogging seriously nowadays. And I think this seem to be the way I start my post too! Which is bad.. very bad. Ah well.. My imaginary readers will understand me right? I'll be going back to Malaysia soon and since that isn't my permanent house anymore, I wont have any internet access there unless I drop by Starbucks and pay 20 dollars for one cup of coffee.

Ahhh!!! I'm sooo angry! Ok.. this happen about 2 weeks ago but just thinking about it again makes me want to just stranggle that guy that made me sooo angry!!! WTF!!! >.<

That stupid guy that I'm talking about is Cody's stupid uni-mate. He's a close friend of Cody but for some weird reason, this guy has some adverse reaction towards me!!! I mean wtf??? I know Cody longer than you okay jerk!!!! What gives you the right to treat me this way!!! Irrespectful guy!!! Argh.. So mad so mad!!!

Even before I met him, he was already critisizing me in front of Cody. And all Cody could do was just brush it off! How do I know? Through Cody of course. Calling me fat and everything!!! Wtf!!! I havent even met you yet!!! And the first time we met, you totally treated me like I was invinsible or something!!! WTF?!!! Did I ever do anything wrong to you???

Or are you just jealous of me??? Do you want to date Cody or something??? You closet gay!!! >.<

And what is so wrong about going clubbing and wearing my glasses??? Is it wrong going clubbing with glasses? Is there a writen rule saying you can't do that? You shallow un-educated guy! No wonder you're gay.. fashion is so important to you right? I hate you!!!

MGMT

Song of the week guys! =) I know I haven't been putting this song of the week or day often but I really wanna share with you guys this song.. Its my current favorite song and I can't stop listening to it.

Its definitely not a mainstream music because music lover Cody hasn't even heard it before yet. Its Kids by MGMT. I didn't really like it when I first heard it but after a few times, it totally grew on me. The lyrics are really weird, it doesn't seem to make sense but I think its because of the randomness that makes it so unique. Although I guess after watching the video you kinda get a sense of what it means, I think.. I still don't though. The video is super weird and doesnt make sense either.

Haha.. the whole song is just weird period.

But I love it. Don't get scared by it though.. its not a horror video to scare u. Trust me. =)

Its my girls' favorite song so it really holds a special meaning to me. =) I hope you guys enjoy it!

Diapers would have saved the day..

I don't really wanna say this but.. "Singaporean food sucks!!!!" Argh... I don't know how people can eat the food there. Ok.. I'm not judging any particular food culture or anything but coming from Malaysia and having the food in Singapore almost similar to Malaysia's food, I know what is good food. Seriously.. And Singaporean hawker food is certainly horrible. >.<

Me and Cody went to Singapore for a holiday last week and we came back with a week of diarrhea! A whole week!!! Can u believe it? GOsh...

It was so bad that we almost had to use disposable diapers. Like the ones that old people use. Seriously.. so we don't have to worry about finding a toilet immediately when the need came.. And trust me that need was totally unpredictable. =.=

Never ever am I going to go to Singapore for hawker food anymore.

An Apple Fan..

Boring dinner parties are really hard to endure if you first, do not understand the language, and second, you know nobody there.

I'm in Vietnam right now with my parents and my dad had a company dinner which I had to attend and oh god.. it was the longest night of my life. Ok.. it wasn't that bad but it wasn't exactly the most fun night either. The Vietnamese are an interesting lot. They certainly know how to have fun and are not shy to go out on stage and make fun of themselves. But because the whole dinner was conducted in Vietnamese, all the jokes that the emcee made totally flew pass me. Thank goodness I had my iTouch with me and the hotel had wifi. I don't exactly use my iTouch much but luckily I had it. I bought it about 6 months ago and last night was the first night I used the youtube function. I had doubts using the internet on my iTouch but I was surprisingly pleased with ease of it. It was sleek and easy to use. I absolutely love it!!!

I know I know... I'm totally biased with ipods. There are definitely a lot of brands out there that are better than the Apple but I'm totally a Apple girl. Haha.. =) Ipods are just so much cooler although they may be more expensive than the other brands and do not have as many functions. But I'm a loyal fan of the iPods and now.. the iTouch. Whaha.. I wonder what they are gonna come out with next. Can't wait.

Enjoying the sun

What do you envision when you think about your dream house? I just recently saw a leaflet in my parents' car about a housing estate near Tropicana selling for about RM 2 million to RM 3 million (that's about USD 500,000 to USD 800,000). To us Malaysians that's a lot of money!!! And of course according to the leaflet, the houses were really beautiful. And it was freehold. Meaning you can have the house forever compared to giving the house back to the government after 99 years.

I don't really know what my dream house is gonna be like. It totally depends on the country I stay in because the weather of the country can affect the structure of the house. Although I love gazebos but I know its not practical to have it in a humid country like Malaysia because nobody would wanna stay outside in the hot scorching humid sun. If I'm in California that'll be a totally different story. I would love to sit outside reading a book during fall or spring and enjoy the cool breeze and the warm, loving sun.

Where do I wanna stay in the future? Argh.. that's such a hard question to answer. I don't even know what I wanna do. Ahh.. I'm such a confused girl. =(

US Redrawal Symptoms

Its hard not to develop feelings for a country after living there for a few years. Seriously.. I don't know how am I gonna survive the day I leave US for good. I mean.. I have been living there for the past 2 years and am gonna live there for the next 2 years or so depending where I'm gonna study for Graduate school. Even though I live in the suburbia and I'm a city girl, I have develop feelings for this "secluded" city of California.

Sigh.. everything is really so much more convenient in the US. You don't realize it until you come back to Malaysia and everything is not the way you're used to. Toilets are filthy here. Malaysians want to be civilized and take away the squatting toilet but the sitting one is always too disgusting to sit on. You have to thank you lucky stars if you actually find tissue paper and liquid soap inside the toilet.

In the US, even the toilet in the parks have tissue paper and soap. Those that are used by hippies and gangsters (I'm not being discriminating here!)

I have now became a girl that brings hand sanitizer everywhere I go. Don't judge me. I am just a clean freak now. Sigh..

The insurance system in the US is also different. Maybe I don't really know how the insurance system in Malaysia works but insurances like the Blue Advantage provides everything. You don't have to worry about your medical stuff because its all paid for. Or at least mine is.

I have also gotten used to the medical supplies and the convenience of having "cool" stuff here. Things that I always deemed too expensive but know it is good quality stuff is now my everyday used products here. That's because its soo much cheaper here!!! When you come back to Malaysia, you faint when you see the prize. And you go back to cheap brands.

US have changed me. I don't know for the better or worst. But.. I do know that I miss the US. Not because its great or grass is greener on the other side. But I have just gotten used to it. What am I gonna do.. Ahh...

Fortune Tummy

I'm back in Malaysia!!! Hooray!!! I have been eating soo much!!! Every time you ask a Malaysian what they miss most about Malaysia when they're living abroad, the answer is always definitely food. Nasi kandar, maggi mee goreng, curry, dal, nasi lemak.. And the many meals we have a day. When I was in the US, I basically only had 3 meals a day. Now.. I have almost 10 meals a day!!! =.= I eat even when I'm not hungry!!! What the???!!!

I have already put on weight in the US. And when my friends put on weight, they're like, "don't worry, I'll lose it when I go back home!" I know that's not gonna be true in my case. Although I like to think that Malaysian food is not as fattening as cheeseburgers everyday. But who are we kidding? Malaysian food is oily (argh), everything is fried or soak in coconut milk. >.<

Even the best diet pills wont work for me. I don't believe in them anyways. I mean how can eating some pill make you slim and sexy without any hard work put into it? Yeah right. You can try. Maybe it works for you but..

Meanwhile, I just have to not meet any of my old friends. SHh... I'm not back in Malaysia. Hehe..
