Twilight Obsession

Oh my god.. I'm utterly and absolute obsessed with the Twilight series. You have no idea.

I first heard about Twilight a year ago when I went into the bookstore with one of my friend and she was gushing about how much she loves the story. I didn't have any interest at all whatsoever at that time. I mean what would be so interesting about a love story between a vampire and a human being?

Yeah.. what is so special about a guy being able to climb trees with an amazing speed and bringing you to the top of the world?

Or be able to protect you no matter what happens?

Or wanting to spend every single moment with you without feeling bored?

Big deal. Another Harry Potter craze. I have enough of that.

But then.. the movie came out.

I didn't even intend to watch it. I mean what's the big deal?

But then it became such a big thing! Everyone was talking about it. Students in my school went for the first screening at 12 midnight even though it was one week to finals!!!

So I went and watch it. Not because of anything but because I just wanted to see what was all the fuss about. And oh my god.. I'm officially hooked now.

Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is ABSOLUTELY and UTTERLY CUTE!!! Ahhhh... My knees melted when I first saw him. How can anybody be so adorable? Oh my god....

Remember him from Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory?

My knees just went soft again..

Bye bye Orlando Bloom!!!

The show was wonderful. Maybe I'm still a teenager at heart but I'm crazy over the show. I even wanna watch it again!!! And the first thing I wanted to do after the movie was to read the second book of the series.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it. I mean I wasn't that obsessed yet. What would I do with a random second book? I didn't thought I wanted to get the third or fourth book immediately. Besides that, I don't like reading books again. And I already have so much rubbish to get rid of when I graduate.

But when I went to Target the other day, I couldn't stop myself and I bought the second book, New Moon anyways. And if in the beginning I said I was obsessed, now I'm.. I can't even think of a suitable word for more obsessed.

I read the book till 9am today. I didn't sleep the whole night!!! Though after that I slept and ended up waking at 5pm. My days are officially out of sync. I can't get enough of it.

I went for dinner and went to Borders straight wanting to buy the third book, Eclipse. But it's so expensive. =( The paperback version is not out yet. And its freaking 20 dollars for the hardback copy and 23 dollars for Breaking Dawn.

So I ended up sitting in Starbucks with a cup of hot chocolate enjoying my book still Borders closed. But I only had 2 hours so I didn't really get enough of it.

I'm going to buy the books online from Amazon because I can get both Eclipse and Breaking Dawn for 24 dollars. Much much cheaper than getting it in the bookstore. The only downside is that I'll only get it a week later. So meanwhile, I think I'm gonna continue going to Borders to read the book.

Like I said. I'm obsessed. I have never been so obsessed about a book before.

I want a vampire as a boyfriend too. I want to have my version of Edward. Wahahaha..

I think I'm officially crazy..

I know I'm a hopeless romantic. I guess that's why I love this book so much. I guess I never grew up in terms of romance story. Compared to Harry Potter, the Twilight series is basically just a love story. But what makes it sooo special is the intensity of their romance. The eternity of their existence. Who can truly say they can live with someone for an eternity? No matter what happens. Even a hopeless romantic like me can't say that for certain.

Who wouldn't melt when the love of your "existence" tells you..

I can't live in a world where you don't exist.

Sigh...

Dress Yourself Red!

Its the holidays again!!! Almost ending though. But still the holidays!!! Ah.. festive season. Who doesn't love it? And now that Christmas is over, everything is going on sale.

Its crazy!

Everywhere you go... shops are putting on signs of sales everywhere. I just did major shopping in Victoria Secret the other day. Recession you say? Nah.. its ok.. Its just a few dollars. And its sale!!! We are saving money!

No? =(

People are going crazy getting festive stuff. From Christmas tree earrings, to reindeer pajamas and Santa Claus undies. There's even Holiday frames to get from Zenni Optical! What better time to get yourself a brand new pair of glasses? There's so many colors to choose from and the best part is that the prices are super reasonable!

This is my favorite pair. I'm into stainless steel frames now. Preferably red or maroon. That's what my spectacles look like now. I love it!

I used to think that wearing spectacles was a hassle and I hated that it made me more ugly. Or so I thought. But lately, I believe that with the right kind of frame, you can accentuate your right features and make you even more beautiful. Spectacles to me is kinda like an accessory now. I even give up my contact lenses because I have such beautiful spectacles now.

Besides.. contact lenses are just a major nuisance. Wearing it in and out.

Have fun choosing your perfect pair!

Ants Invasion!!!

I can't believe this. Yup. Ants have officially invaded my room. Specifically my bathroom. Its terrible! I went to San Diego for one night and when I came back the day after, my bathroom was filled with ants.

Literally. They were all over the bath tub. You can't believe how I felt. I was totally panicking. I tried looking for the source of food, coz maybe I left food or something but I couldn't find anything. They were all over my sink, my counter, all the glasses... EVERYTHING!!!

I actually googled up ants invasion and it seems that some ants invade homes when the weather outside is cold and wet!!! No wonder!!! My room is nice, warm and dry!!!

I immediately called a friend who had similar experience and he told me to get a liquid bait. He told me Target or Walmart may have it. But since it was Christmas day, only CVS was open. =.= And I was forced to buy another kind of bait.

Totally useless!

Surface to say it was totally useless. The ants didn't like those at all. And the next day the ants were still there. More than ever! I asked my dad for advice and all he told me was pour hot water onto them.

I couldn't really do that. You know why?

Because damn US bathroom doesn't have any drain for the water to flow out! So if I pour hot water onto the floor, it'll juz flood the whole bathroom.

I thought about vacumming it. But what would I do with the bag? What if they're still alive?

Urgh.. I don't even wanna think about it.

I eventually went to Target and bought this.

F*cking 7 dollars for this stuff!

The liquid version of an ant bait. In the beginning, the ants didn't really liked it. However, the next day..

This was what I found.

They liked it!!! And they are all dead now! wahahaha..

And the ants have significantly decrease!!! Hooray!!! Seems that not only will they eat it and die, they will go back to their nest and kill everyone first. Wahahhaa...

Hope I'm not creating bad karma!

Its lonely facing this by myself. My roommate has left for home and there's nobody to help me.

At least the ants are not going into my room. Stupid ants. =( I dont like them. I hope they get out soon. My room is not an orphanage or a shelter home for ants!!!

GET OUT!!!

Binoculars Camera

Having a camera with a 20x optical zoom certainly has its advantages. Though I haven't got it yet, I know how it feels like to have a 12x optical zoom. Most times when I wanna take pictures of objects faraway, I'm amazed at the amount of zoom I'm able to do. I remember there was once I was in San Francisco and I was trying to take Alcatraz Island from the Golden Gate Bridge, I tried zooming in and I was so amaze at the amount of detail that I got from the zoom. Its sooo amazing. I felt like a 007 agent spying on the criminals even though the prison in Alcatraz Island is officially a tourist place now.

Without zoom

With zoom! See the difference! Crazy!!! Imagine a face peeping out!

With a 20x optical zoom, its gonna be sooo much better. Wahaha.. I can't wait! That's the best thing about having a semi-pro digital camera. You get all the manual functions, plus good zoom and its still not considered a DSLR yet. Hehe..

I definitely would not need Nikon rifle scopes. But then again.. One never knows..

I wanna go to Las Vegas!!!

Having a car in US definitely has its pros. Now I can go for road trips whenever I want. The only drawback is finding partners to go with you. You certainly don't want to drive for 30 over hours alone. I mean.. what is the point then?

There aren't many places around California to drive to. There is San Francisco, San Diego, LA for places that are kinda near and there is Grand Canyon for places that will take more than 6 hours. Las Vegas is surprisingly close too I think. Maybe around 3 to 4 hours? I really wanna go there one day. The problem is that most of my friends aren't 21 yet and they feel that it will not be that fun going there when they can't go into most places. Though I'm already 21 ( yeah yeah! I'm old!), I have to wait for everyone else to turn 21 before we can all go together. Obviously I would like to go with my close friends too. I'll be 23 by then. God! I can't believe how fast the time is passing.

I wonder how it will be like driving around Las Vegas. I hope my car is still functioning by then. Its making weird noises nowadays. I really have no idea why. A little bit scary actually. But whatever.. =(

I should get myself a las vegas strip map. That way I can find my way to interesting places and gamble all my college fund away. What do u think? Whahaha..

Losing weight the fast way

I'm currently staying with a friend of mine, Trid who is a Mexican American (She hates when I call her that. She IS a Mexican though she has an American passport). She's really cute and I absolutely love her. One thing that is really funny about her is tat she's always complaining that she is fat. But she doesn't just complain for the sake of complaining. She actually shows me her fat on her tummy and asks me to feel it and agree with her that she is fat too. She's absolutely crazy I tell you. She would even come to me and squeeze my fat and compare if it feels the same as hers.

Oh god.. I have never met any girl like her before. I wonder if all Mexicans are like that or is it just her? Hahah.. I dont mean to be stereotypical here. Just kidding. =P

One thing for sure. I'll definitely not recommend her Anoretix. She's NOT fat!!! Though this pill claims to be the strongest ever. Don't they all say that? Whatever.. GO swimming if you wanna lose weight!

San Diego!!!

I'm in San Diego now! Staying with one of my Mexican-American friends and eating lots of Mexican food. Wahahaha..

I always remembered San Diego as the place that has the famous San Diego Zoo! I had an interactive CD about the zoo when I was young and it really impacted me a lot. And now I'm finally here!!! Wooohooo..

Trying not to jump down in Coronado Island!

And guess what?

I'm buying myself a camera!!! Yup! After almost half a year of not having a camera and borrowing all my poor girlfriends' camera I am finally gonna have my own camera again!!!

Do you know how its like to not have a camera after having a super cool one? Its horrible that what it is!!!

I just bought it from Amazon.com!!! Canon SX 10IS! A new version from my old Canon SX15IS! Yup!!! For USD 329. They actually had free shipping but because I need it before my trip to Peru on the 5th of January, I paid an extra USD13 for 2 day shipping. So its gonna be here on the 24th of December!!! I'll have it for Christmas!!! But that USD13 is really hurting my heart. Its not really that much compared to USD300 but its almost RM40 for shipping!!! Ahhh..

Ok.. whatever.. I bought it already. I am gonna have a new camera. After that fateful awful day. I hope that guy burns in hell or something. >.< I'm not a bad person but.. ahhh..

Yay!!! San Diego!!! Mexican food! Wahahha.. And best of all.. New camera!!! Woohoo...!!!

Fully covered

I'm not sure whether if its just my insurance but insurance here really cover a lot of stuff, especially term life insurance. With my insurance card, I get Pap Smear for free, discount on many prescribed drugs including my Malaria pills, shots for free and all. I don't remember Malaysia having this kinda of insurance for people. I know my mum had to pay for her Pap Smear every month.

If you're wondering, I need Malaria pills because I'm going to Peru next month! Wahaha... I'm going to go visit Manchu Pichu! There are so many things I need to prepare even before stepping into Peru. Luckily I don't need to take the Yellow Fever shot again because I took it last year when I went to Colombia. I didn't know Yellow Fever is a last time thing. Now I just need to find my yellow card that certifies that I have taken the shot. Careless me..

Obamanation

Prop 8. For those living outside California, do you know what is that?

Well, basically California just recently pass its laws that allow same sex marriage sometime last year if I'm not mistaken. It was a major victory for the gay rights movement that have been going on for quite some time.

However, some conservative people started to come up to oppose this new state law. The result was Proposition 8 which bans same sex marriage in California. A few months leading to the November election, advocates of both sides were actively trying to gain voters to support their side.

Advocates of Prop 8 (those that want to ban same sex marriage) stated that if the state allowed same sex marriage to go on, school education would start educating little kids that its all right to have same sex marriage. This stirred up a lot of commotion and turned a lot of Prop 8 non-supporters to supporters.

Hence in the November election, Prop 8 won by somewhere between 53-54%.

Now.. the gay rights movement are spurring up again. Wanting to gain equal rights to marriage.

Who is right and who is wrong? Who will have the final say?

The video below is really funny and I want to share with u guys.

And I'm all in for equal rights. But for the education part.. em.. not that much. Though it was a tactic used by the advocated of Prop 8 to gain supporters. Politics are terrible.

P:S/ Jack Black is inside the video toO! =)
