Oh my god..

Haha.. This is actually hilarious!

Do you get it? =)

Going Around the States!

Being in the states can be a very good thing. You can travel to as many states as you want and the interesting thing is that all the states are as different as night and day. Ok.. not that much difference but if you come from Malaysia, you kinda feel that all states are almost the same. Even being in California itself is interesting. San Francisco and LA is totally different! I absolutely love San Francisco! I'm in love with that place!!! =)

There are so many places that I wanna go. I have another 3 winter breaks to go but I wanna spent all my time in SF!!! Bad bad bad. I wanna go to New York too though. Money is a big problem.. Booohoo.. but sometimes you can get really great deals online. Branson, Missouri is one of the interesting places too. It has the name of the "Live Music Capital of the World". It has lots of theme parks, like the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe it Or Not (God.. I love this!), Go-Kart.. best for kids and families! The packages are really tempting too! $423 for a 3 day 2 night stay in the resort over there which includes tickets to a theme park, gift cards to restaurants and shopping! Not bad for a trip for young couples!

Oooooh.. Don't you just love travelling?! =)

I'm back!

Wow... this has been a super amazing trip! I sometimes can't believe how lucky I am to be able to experience all these all at once in such a short period of time. First it was Columbia and now Arizona. And its not only just visiting Arizona and going around the tourist attractions. I actually went to the Navajo Reservation and visited the Navajo people. I learned so much about the native American Indian people. Not only did I visited their houses with them welcoming us with open arms, I ate their food, visited the office of President of the Navajo nation, have them perform a religious ceremony to us wishing us a safe journey back, and learned all about their creation story, culture, and lifestyle of the Navajo people.

I never knew a single thing about any Native Americans before I went on this trip let alone who the Navajo people were. But now I can safely say that I do know something about them. That they are a group of strong people that in the midst of adversity, can still build up their nation and maintain their cultural identity.

It took us almost 15 hours to get to our destination on the first day. We left at 8am in the morning and only reached our campsite at 11pm. We were supposed to camp outside on the first night and boy was it cold. It was around 2 to 3 Celsius! Imagine sleeping outside in this weather! It was terribly cold and something that I wouldn't wanna experience again. Once in a lifetime is definitely good enough.

The wind was super strong adding to the terrible coldness that everyone felt. Within 45 minutes, all the tents were set up and people started to build a fire.

The traditional house that the Navajo people used to live is called the Hogan.

Which is kinda like the igloo but the only difference is that it is build using wood. Its an octagonal shape with the fireplace right in the middle of it.

There was only one hogan and there wasn't any specifications on who is going to sleep inside the hogan. Obviously everyone wanted to sleep inside the hogan but there was this one gal, who was allergic to dogs so she was given the priority to sleep inside. And because I was kinda her friend, I stayed inside to accompanied her.

You cannot imagine how warm it is to be inside the hogan. Even without the fire, you can totally feel the difference between just standing outside and going inside the hogan. I already had a super hard time sleeping side the hogan because it was kinda cold, but imagine sleeping inside the sleeping bed, in the tent in 2 degrees Celsius!

Oh my god.

I was really lucky though. We even had beds to sleep in while the others had only sleeping beds on the cold hard ground!

Unfortunately I think the cold still caught up on me and I'm falling sick now.

I shall blog about this trip of mine later. I really hope I do though because I really wanna document my experience. It will be such a waste if it just stays in my memories because memories fade easily.

Parting Gift

You know always when you watch love stories, whenever the girl in the story is going somewhere far away, the boy will always give her something precious of his for her to keep and have it by her side, well.. I always loved this part and hoped that someday, my boyfriend will give me something of his to keep by my side too. I know these Korean and Japanese dramas are too dramatic and long distance relationship barely works, but don't you think its romantic when you're at the airport ready to part with your boyfriend/girlfriend, they suddenly take out their favorite thing and give it to you? Fully knowing that they will have to part with it too?

Sigh.. So romantic!

Cody didn't exactly gave me his watch minutes before we parted, instead.. I actually asked him way before hand to give me his watch so I can wear it when I go to the States. And he did. =) His precious CK watch that cost around RM350 (USD 110). I absolutely love his watch. No.. its not because of the brand. Really! =| Hehe.. Its just not so lonely when you know that you're carrying a part of your love one wherever you go.

Anyway, I was actually thinking of getting him another watch for the longest time. But its so hard to find one. Seriously! He's so picky with watches. He hates leather strap, he doesn't like big clumsy ones. Where am I going to find a sleek man's watch? The only one that I know he'll definitely like is the one I'm wearing! And I don't think I want to part with it either!

Oh dear.. Maybe I should try the Royal Oak Offshore. Hmm...

Off to Arizona!

Here I go again! Going off to some unknown land! I'm finally gonna have one week of spring break and I'm going to wake up at 5am tomorrow to sit on the bus for 10 hours to get to a place that has confuse weather!!!!

Argh.. I'm tired! Boohooooooooooo..

We're going to volunteer our services there by helping the native indians dig a trench for a water tank, go to orphanages and stuff. Its gonna be the Navajo Nation. Whatever that is. Not really sure yet! haha..

Will be back on Thursday! Boohoo.. Hope this is gonna be a fun trip. I know I don't sound as excited as I should be but I'm really tired! =(

Good night everyone and have a nice week!

Traveling again!

I just spoke to my mum on skype just now and it seems that she's planing a trip to UK this summer holidays! My mum can be so cute sometimes. I remember my dad always teasing my mum, saying that her only aim in life is to plan holidays for the family but the irony thing is everyday is a holiday for her!

Haha.. I know.. I know.. being a mum is a full time job. =)

But I'm kinda reluctant to travel again. I don't really know why! I have always love traveling and to go to Europe is one of my dreams! But I miss Malaysia and I wanna spent as long as possible there! Hmm.. I don't know. I'll just see how its gonna be. Maybe my mum will get really good vacation deals! Who knows! Maybe I'll get bored with Malaysia and complain about the weather two days after I touch down! hehe.. I miss the food though..You can't imagine..!

Counting down the days to teh-o-ais-limau!!! Wooo!

Typing essays!

I had last midterm on Thursday and it was the most intense midterm I have ever had. Ok.. scratch that.. all midterms are terrible but that was absolutely heart pumping!!!

The first session was to identify key words for all the readings we had done in the semester. This is a pacbasin class so basically we learned about the countries in the Pacific Basin. Their history, politics and stuff. The first session was okay, with questions like, explain who is Mongkut, or encomienda (something about the system during America's colonization where the native indians offered labor in return for the settler's protection and the Christianity teachings).. stuff like that.

But after that, we were assigned to write a 350 to 500 words essay in 50 minutes about the reason why Japan and China had different foreign relations in the 18th and 19th century. Oh my goodness!
It definitely didn't help much even though it was an open book exam! While I was finding for information, I could feel my hands shaking. It was so weird! haha.. I was trying to find stuff to quote but by the time I found A sentence, there was around 35 minutes left. So I gave up trying to make my essay look "professional" and just type whatever that came into my mind. Finally when there was two more minutes left, I realized I had 650 words! And my professor is really strict about keeping to the word limit because he says we have to train ourselves to be concise which I absolutely hate! So without rereading my essay, I deleted one whole paragraph!!!! Argh.. My poor sad paragraph! GOne...

Thank goodness for my laptop though. Spell check and all that. Phew... I can't imagine writing an essay with a pen now. Terrible I know but..

That's a fact!

Its over now.. so I'm not gonna dwell on it. Boohooo.. Hope I didn't do too bad!

Se-YA!

I never knew I would do this but recently I have joined the Taiko club in my university. For those not very inteligent people.. (=P), taiko is a type of traditional Japanese drum which is played by the Japanese. (duh!) The Chinese have one like that too, I think. I remember seeing the Chinese Society in my high school performing during school events and though I would enjoy the performance, I always thought they were kinda monster-like! Screaming like crazy people and jumping here and there!

And here I am, a soft princess joining Taiko! =.=

I joined it last semester because I was totally blown away by the performance the Taiko members gave during my orientation week. And to tell u the truth, I didn't really enjoyed it in the beginning coz we only played on tyres (coz drums are too preciously expensive) and the first few practices were boring.

This is not me.. Just some picture I stole randomly.
This is what it looks like though!

But now.. when we are starting to be better and starting to perform.. Wow.. The feeling is amazing. The feeling of playing the drums, being totally concentrated on playing your part of the music, just blows me away.

Its not easy playing the drums, I can tell you this. First your arms have to be really strong because you have to continuously hit the drums with the drumsticks. And you have to make sure you form is good, no half way arms here! We need straight arms! Not to mention the rhythm that we have to memorize! It takes me ages to get the music down. And to play it fast! Goodness gracious me! After the whole performance is over, you can feel your hand burning! Literally.

Someone actually told me that you know you had a good practice when by dinner time, you can't hold your food tray because your arms hurt too much.

How true.. how true..

Anyway, we're going to perform for a teacher's conference tonight for around 800 people! I can't describe to you how nervous I am! I can't screw up because it will bring the whole team down but I'm not good enough! Argh....

Not to mention that this will probably be the first time many people will be actually knowing what our school is. But.. no pressure there! Yup!!! Absolutely NONE!

Argh.. Wish me luck! Hope I don't suck!

SE-YA!

I need my sleep!!!

Oh my god..! Mid-terms are finally over!!! This is the most intense week I have ever had!!! Seriously!!! I miss the feeling of hanging out and basically doing nothing. Just lying down on my pillows, looking at the ceiling and day-dreaming... Don't you feel you need those days too?

But I'm really happy now! My mid-terms are over and everything is all good. I just hope I didn't do too badly. I had 50 minutes to write a 500 words essay on the difference between the foreign relationship of China and Japan. It was an intense 50 minutes and at the very last 2 minutes, I realized I had 150 words extra and without reading too much, I deleted one whole paragraph of my essay! Thank god for Microsoft though. Phew! Made things much easier!

Its Friday tomorrow and I have a Spanish test! Boohoo.. Mi no me gusta examen! Hehe..

Now for some much needed sleep!

Spring break is almost here!

Ah.. just a few days more. I swear.. this is my toughest week ever!!! All due to my best friend, procrastination, I have left my mid-term bring home exam for my human rights class till the very last day to start doing it. I was given a week and I only completed it at 3:30 am today when it was due 10am that day itself. And tomorrow, I have another mid-term but this is gonna be an in-class paper.

I always have a dilemma, should I go and have a good night's sleep and have a energize brain tomorrow but didn't do any studying or, should I study the whole night but have a dead brain tomorrow?

Don't tell me that I should have studied earlier coz its a little too late now but..

Tell me.. what should I do?

Though I always end up making sure I read everything before I go to bed, with my dead brain! Sigh.. being a student is tough! Being a lazy student is even tougher!

Can't wait for spring break. Gonna go make some Las Vegas hotel reservations now!

What do you think of this Little Guy?

When I was in high school, I used to be obsessed with cute little cartoons from Japan. I swear.. these Japanese people are expert in letting people succumb to marketing gimmicks and buy all things cute. Me and my high school friend would fight between each other to decide who was the cutest! For some reason, we have totally different taste. She would like Tarepanda, and I would like the bubble dog, which for some reason I can't find any pictures of it online, mainly because I don't know the name. Boohoo..

It is this white dog that looks people use to call it Pao Pao Gou! Do you remember that?

Anyway.. She would like Moshimaro, and I would like the depressed Kogepan.

The burnt bread that wants to lead a normal life.

Though I realize I dont really like any of them anymore. I guess I grew out of it. THough I have never seen any Tarepanda, or Kogepan merchandise anymore!

Now.. who in the right mind would like Moshimaro?

And he likes the toilet bowl!
Who in the right mind likes a toilet bowl and a plummer?

He is so ugly.

He has super small eyes.. Has no expression whatsoever, and.. is fat! (Not that I say fat people are ugly but.. ya know what I mean!)

We always had an argument on who is cuter! My kogepan, cute bubble dog or her tarepanda, or Moshimaro.

I was okay with tarepanda and all but I could never accept Moshimaro. I couldn't see any beauty in him.

At all..

And now.. Cody's nickname is Moshimaro!!! He friends know him as Moshimaro because they say he looks like a rabbit. I have Moshimaro as my boyfriend now? Ahh....

Must be karma..

Disclaimer: This is just personal opinion. Don't come and attack me if you're a big obsessed fan of that white fat thing!

Buying Stuff Online!

Easter is coming!!! I don't really know what holidays this is all about but I know from reading story books that its all about beautifully colored eggs with candies and chocolates inside!!!

I have two friends that are obsessed with candies and sweets! Two Japanese friends, one guy and one girl! Seriously, I have never met anyone as crazy as them about anything sweet! This skinny friend of mine (UNFAIR!) can finish one whole box of chocolate in one hour and have another one the next hour. These two friends put together and finish a whole ice-cream store in just 3 hours! They are absolutely crazy!!!

Their birthdays are coming and me and my friends are planing to have a Easter celebration for them! We bought empty colored eggs and plan to put candies inside and hide them all over campus! They can slowly go find their hidden treasures in the canyon, under the table and stuff.

Can't wait! hehe..

But.. I have to buy presents for them too and I rarely go out!!! What should I do then?

Luckily I have CouponChief.com which can provide me with cool coupons so I can save money when I buy stuff online! I love Gap clothes, and BestBuy.com to get cheap electronics! Or maybe even Target and Dell home to find some interesting stuff to add in my room.

I'm gonna be so broke!

Wow.. What is becoming of Malaysia?

I have always been not very interested with politics, especially the ones happening in Malaysia, though I do know some basics things, like the stuff I learn in Pengajian Am when I was in Form 6 and that Malaysia is mainly govern by BN and that all the opposition parties though there exist, they don't really play a big role in anything.

But this year its absolutely different!!! Wow.. I am so surprised!!! Selangor is under DAP now!!! Wowowowow.... It is such a weird feeling finding it out from the newspaper online. I know there was gonna be an election on Saturday but I kinda forgot about it till Cody mentioned it to me during one of our daily phone calls. He told me that DAP has won Selangor!!! I was like.. "What?" That has never happen before!!! Selangor? One of the major cities in Malaysia is not under BN anymore?

Wow.. what does this mean then? Decrease toll rates? No more traffic samans? What can the new ruling party do? What are they allowed to do?

And BN has less than two-thirds of the majority votes? What does this mean anyway? Ah.. I'm a frog in the well! =(

Whatever it is.. it is definitely going to be an interesting year for Malaysia. What is going to happen in this 5 years? This is going to open new opportunities for Malaysians.. and I'm definitely excited about it. I just hope they don't disappoint us.

Our Tun wants our current prime minister to step down. But I think someone is too thick face to do anything. Ah well..

And.. I can actually vote now! Can you believe it?

Boohoo.. I'm old.

Summer holidays..

Ah.. Americans.. The things people say about Americans always having flings and one night stands are true. Not that I'm saying Malaysians don't do it but even on my campus, in my small 100 student freshman class, we have rumors going around on people sleeping with that guy, drunk sex and stuff like that.

I want a piece of action too... Booohooo..

Ok.. its just between you and me. I'm going back to my prim and proper self too..

I just have to get a hot lingerie when I go back! Wahaha...

Shhh...

Wanna take pictures with Aliens?

People think about everything!!! And people think of anything to squeeze money out of other people!!!

This is so crazy...

$1 for whoever that wants to take pictures with aliens without a backbone!

Too bad there wasn't anyone to "jaga" the place though.. Ah well.. hehe..

I'm a stingy Malaysian!

Building a Coffin for yourself..

Haha.. sounds a bit far fetch and weird right? Why would people wanna talk about death let alone start building a coffin for yourself? Especially for the Chinese, they'll ask you to go touch wood and never mention death again.

But how much can we prepare for our own death? Till what point should we prepare until it gets a little too scary? People say the more you think about it, the more it will happen. But in this modern age, does it still hold true? There are so many burial policy out there now.. there's funeral life insurance that covers the cost of medical fees and burial charges, unpaid credit cards, home and car loans.. Should we prepare for the worst?

Everyone needs to die someday but what about those people that are left behind?

Bush?

Hmm.. when you're not in America, you wonder what the Americans think about having Bush as the head of the country, causing so much destructions to the world.. that the Americans must be sick people too to be able to put him up there in the first place and not do anything about it..

They must be crazy sick Americans..

But.. now that I'm here..

Americans think like that too!!!

They are not as crazy as we think they are! They are normal people that want Bush out of the office ASAP!!!!

Counting down the days till the Bush administration ends!!! Wonder if he will press the "red button"?

What do you think will happen? Any crazy speculations? =P

Argh!!! Anyway, Charter communications is offering people to have the fastest internet speed in your area!!! All you need to do is to bid on it and the highest of the bid will win the fastest internet speed in your area and its gonna be for life!!!

Friends make everything special..

I was kinda preparing to stay in my room on my 21st birthday. Not that I was complaining or anything but I think society has sort of put an expectation on one's 21st birthday celebration. Don't ya think so?

That just because you have reached 21, that it is your 21st birthday, you must have a big celebration, a 3 days 3 nights thing, with you getting all wasted because you're finally legal to drink..

And if you stay in your room the whole day, that means you have NO LIFE!!!!

Not that I'm implying anyone who doesn't have that kinda birthdays are losers but this is what children are fed of since they were young.

Though my birthday didn't include me clubbing the whole night and being all wasted, it was amazing in its own special way.

My special way! =)

My friends came over at 1240am (yeah.. I have no idea why they were late) to my room with a box of Krispy Kreme dougnuts for me. I absolutely love these dougnuts and because I don't have a car to get around here, I rarely get to eat them. I was of course dressed in my PJ's because though I kinda expected them to do something, I told myself nothing would happen come 1230am so I was totally not prepared at all when they burst in to my room then.

I even had my.. ahem..! lady clothes on the floor for everyone to see.. =.=

Anyway, since they were all younger than me and the age limit to drink alcohol is 21 years old (not that anyone follows them), they bought me a bottle of apple cider (you'll love it Cody! It was sour though) and a few really weirded presents.

One was a sex book, "69 Ways to Please Your Lover: Sex Secrets for Ultimate Pleasure" handbook, which I have no idea where I'm gonna use it coz I'm worst than a nun here, a Dirty Minds Game, which is something like Taboo but this one makes you think dirty but is actually not, and a intoxicating dice game called "Shaken Up"..

Like I have parties in my room every weekend.

Not to forget a book of mocktails, which I strongly feel my friends wanted it for themselves.

But I love them nonetheless though..

The next afternoon, we drove down to Venice Beach, Santa Monica Boulevard. This was the first time for me to drive in LA. It was super fun!!! I managed to persuade someone to lend me his car and he actually agreed! I was estatic to finally be able drive around! I recently got my California license so I kinda trust myself but the right side/left side thing is seriously confusing. I have to constantly remind myself that Americans drive on their right side. Especially when you make a left turn, you're supposed to go to your right lane immediately, or else you'll be in the same lane as the incoming car!

THough at one point of time where I was a little nervous, my left hand actually reached out to turn the gear. Natural instinct i guess. (American drivers is on the left side of the car)

There were many times that we almost got lost but thanks to Google maps and Mapquest, we manage to find our way. Gone were the confusing gigantic maps.

We wanted to go to Hooters in the night for dinner. Hooters is a family restaurant where all the waitresses wear skimpy shorts and have big boobies to show off. I so wanted to go there but they had a wrestling game going on that night and it was fully booked! =( Sad sad.. the place was full of guys though. Haha.. scary big looking Americans!!!

Instead we went to Karls' Brewery Restaurant. Not bad..

Wings without bones. I see no point actually.

Fried Calamari!!!

Fish and Chips with a tinge of beer..

Some burger..

New York pizza I think..

Most of them wanted to make me drunk because I'm finally legal to drink but.. nah.. I'm not much of a drinker.. and furthermore.. I was the one driving.. which actually turned out to be a great excuse to decline further drinking. However, someone asked the waitress if they had anything special for birthdays and when she knew I was 21, she said she would give us a glass of beer and a glass on the house.

The beer was surprisingly nice. Smooth and sweet. Though before she gave it to me, she actually asked me to show her my ID and I showed her my Malaysian IC. And if you notice, our Malaysian IC does not show our birthday. The only thing that they show is the IC number and that is how you know the person's birthday. Like mine is 870301-##-####. Malaysians would know it in a second but this waitress was staring at it for the longest time and I was wondering why she had a hard time reading it.

Then I realized it. So i just pointed towards the numbers, and told her, "so you just read from here, 87, March, 1st". She nodded her head and left.

Only after that did I realized that it was totally funny that she actually believed me. I could have crap out anything to explain the numbers on my ID. One of my friends actually took out her own Puerto Rican ID and tried to crap something out of her numbers.

I totally forgot I could have used my new Californian driving license.

Ah well.. ahaha..

The food was okay but the beer was really surprisingly nice.

After I came back into my room, I had another surprise waiting for me..

Somebody decorated my bathroom!!!

And didn't want me to shower..

I love them!

Most heart warming birthday ever!!! Thank you so much guys!

Spring is here!!!

Oooh.. the sun is starting to come and and people are starting to wear their sexiest and skimpiest outfits to class nowadays. I absolutely love it.

Coming from Malaysia, you never know how to appreciate the sun because its always there but here.. every minute of the sun being there is a blessing!!!

I just sat out under the sun for 30 minutes just lying there doing nothing. You'll never see me doing that in Malaysia. I'll run to the nearest air conditioned place anywhere anytime!

So like I was saying, everyone here loves the sun. Therefore, it is crucial to have nice outdoor furnitures for you to have a comfortable day enjoying the sun, something that is also environmental friendly and green products are an awesome way to achieve this.

I'm gonna stop sitting in my room and start sun bathing now. Wahaha..

Happy birthday, dear ......

Happy Birthday to you!

I'm turning 21.. Its scary!!!

Do u have the time?

I don't know about kids nowadays or is it just American kids but young people now don't really wear watches anymore.. I don't know about you but I never leave home without my watch! If I do, I'll feel all weird and turn back just to get my watch!

But people over here.. just don't wear a watch. To them, their cellphones (omg! I'm using cellphones instead of handphone!) is their time keeper.

What happen to turning to your wrist to see what time is it?

Though.. I like nice sleek watches, or watches with meaning, like Cody's CK watch! Hehe.. No womens gold watches for me!

Do u prefer watch or cellphones time?
