Would You Eat These?

No, they're not made from Marzipan. They are not edible. But you would be really sick if you had really wanted too. These little delicate works of wonders are made by artist Camille Allen by clay.

Aren't they absolutely beautiful!

Aww...

I wonder how much they are worth! Probably a lot! Ah well..

Though I wouldn't really know what to do with them either but that's what collectors do right? Collect stuff just for the sake of it!

Back to my paper now!

After Two Months

Oh my goodness, you cannot believe how out of shape I am. Ok, I know, you couldn't care less but oh my goodness. After two whole months of not swimming, I am like a giant hippopotamus in a pool! Can't move at all! =( Argh..

And I thought I could swim in the Amazon River. I wish!

Today for swimming practice we didn't go into the pool because it was absolutely too cold to do it. Correction, none of us wanted to go into the pool because it was raining and the coaches had no choice. Hehe.. so we did dry land practice instead! Boy! Was it hard. We did 15 minutes of cardiac training. I didn't bring my tennis shoes so I went on the the cycling machine instead. We had an elliptical machine too and it was quite fun going on it. The remaining 45 mins of our time was used for weight training. I didn't realize how many weight machines I had in my university's gym! And to my very surprise, I can do pull ups! Hehe.. though I think I'm more like lifting a quarter of my weight. But still! Hehe...

Argh... Large muscles here I come!!! >.<

Gay Advertisements!

It seems that San Francisco is the gay capital of US and the place where all the gay people live is Castro. My friend kept asking me to visit Castro and I didn't understand what was so special about that place. What do you mean by gay area? Is there gay stuff everywhere? What is gay stuff anyway?

I sat the Muni, which is like at Malaysian version of LRT and it went straight to Castro. Once I went down from the train, this was what I saw..

It was all over the train station. Everywhere!!! My goodness. Talk about gay pride.

You wont ever see this kind of advertisements anywhere else in the city. Only in Castro.

I was really shocked to see it. Hehe.. Not that I'm against gay people. It is just so eye-opening to see this kind of things! Haha..

Don't ya think these advertisements are super interesting?

Where can u find such things in Malaysia..

I liked this the best! Haha..

US is really a different place!

Oooh..!!!

Wooo.. I took this picture in Fisherman's Wharf I can't believe it is still moving! Though technically it is still a picture but you know what I mean?

Haha..

I love all these weird pictures.. Ya know anywhere else that has pictures like this?

Rich neighbour

When I was still living in Malaysia, my mum was super friendly with my right side neighbour. I don´t know how she manage to make friends with her though because their doors were always close and no one ever hang out outside the house. We thought this was a super cold family in the beginning but after my mum got to know her, we became quite friendly to each other. There was one day when we actually went into her house and look around. Boy was her house pretty. I absolutely loved her tiles. She had this wooden tile which was so smooth and glossy that it made the entire house look so elegant yet comfy at the same time. Though they told us that it was super expensive to buy it.

I wish I could have it in my house next time.

Do you make the furnitures in your house?

I have an uncle who´s really good with his tools. Everytime something in his house is broken, he will immediately take out his tools and start working his magic. From old computers to broken down washing machines, he is always able to fix it and use it in his house. And this is really good for his family because they aren´t really well off. Some of his tables and chairs are also made by him. I seriously wonder why he didn´t make himself a carpenter, especially if he has a set of Delta machinery.

Wonder if he will fix my broken down stuff too!

For free! Hehe..

I am leaving soon.

Argh.. My holiday is slowly coming to an end. I am leaving Leticia tomorrow.

Boohoo.. Feeling sad now..

I am gonna miss the kids here the most. The sweet innocent street kids who runs and hugs you everytime they see you.

The world is a beautiful place even though you dont have the most luxurious things.

Bye Leticia

Staying fit

The best part about being on the swim team even though I have to wake up at 6am three times a week is that I dont have to worry about gaining weight even though I am in the country where 80 percent of the people are overweight and the meal portion is almost as big as me. Unfortunately, the swimming season is almost over and I have another 4 more months before I go back to Malaysia. Though I am all fit right now, I dont think I can stay this way until I go back to Malaysia.

Argh. Oh dear.. what am I going to do. People are so gonna have in their minds that Princess Shin has indeed gain weight but no one is gonna tell it to my face.

Argh.. I hate that. Boohoo...

I hate to go to the gym to have myself go on the exercise equipment there but..

Bluek. Hate this.

Nice warm baths

Being in the US, you just don´t realized how different the weather can get between Malaysia and US. For the past 6 months, the only time that I have ever sweat is when I am busy vacuming my room. That is the only time. Most of the time, I´m always cool or cold. Never ever hot. Now that it is winter, it is even worst! I have to wear thicker clothig when I go out. And because the weather in California especially Orange County isn´t THAT cold, it is quite embrassing when you layer yourself when other just walk out with a thin sweater.

That why I love my hots baths. One of the perks of being in my university is that all the bathrooms comes with a tub. And though I know it is super terrible to bath in hot tubs because it uses so much water, I do indulge myself once in a blue moon.

And it is heavenly!

My little brother is turning 15 today!!!

Yup!!! Time is passing so fast!!! My little brother, aka, the pest, the monkey, the boy whose my mother´s son is turning 15 today!!!

Boy.. do I feel old.

I have always had a bad relationship with my brother. Maybe its because of the wide age difference between us but somehow we just don´t really get along.

I think we were much closer when he was around 2 and I, 8. That was when he would bite me around my arms, or pull my hair. At least we still had physical contact or some communication. Even though it was to scream at each other. But after I went to high school, we just stopped talking. He would place himself in front of the computer all day long and would only come down for dinner. Sometimes if he had his way, he would eat in front of the computer or not go out with us for dinner.

I always thought it was his fault that we had such a terrible relationship. But recently, my dad told me that my brother actually respects me a lot and that I should work harder because i´m the oldest sister. I was super angry at first, how dare my dad tell me that. But after that incident, i started to put in a little more effort in getting to know my brother and even though we rarely talk especially since I am in US, occasionally we do talk on skype and the other day for the first time on the phone.

I just wanna take this opportunity to wish my little baby brother ´Happy Birthday´ and even though he may be a pest sometimes (99.99 percent of the time) I do love him a lot.

Happy Birthday little brother. Don´t go start taking drugs and making girls pregnant!!!

Muarx!

Getting addicted to TV agaiN!

I have always been a TV freak ever since I was a child, I always remeber watching TV till late at night and feeling all guilty because I havent done my homework yet. And since my mum was not a strict mum, I would just sit there until around 11 pm watching sitcoms like Friends, Gilmore Girls and such and wake up super early the next day to try and finish my homework. More often than not, I would end up copying my friend´s work! hehe.. shh...

I still survive. I´m in university now so..!Whaha..

I thought that after coming to US, which is where all my favorite shows originate from, I would go totally crazy. But because of my super busy schedule I havent found the time to really sit down and watch TV.

Until the recent winter break.

I started catching up on TV shows like Grey´s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives and have found myself going downstairs to the common room to chase the latest episodes now.

Now I so want my own TV and video in my own room. I heard that there is a special HDMI switches that can allow u to do just that. Because I don´t have that many plugs in my room it is best for me!

Argh.. I can feel my results going down the drain!!!

Golden Gate Bridge

Of all the sights in San Francisco.. I really love the Golden Gate Bridge the most. I really can't believe after watching it on TV and reading it on books for so many times, I finally have a chance to see it with my own eyes.

The feeling of just looking at it is absolutely amazing. The sight of this magnificent architecture is really wonderful. I really really love the Golden Gate Bridge.

I was complaining to my friend for the longest time because I have been in San Francisco for the past 1 and a half weeks already and have yet to see the famous bridge yet. And finally after a long 10 days of being in San Francisco, I finally got to see this beautiful work of wonder.

There are a lot of things to see on the bridge. Though they are always a lot of people around here but there are plenty of spots to take wonderful pictures!

I think should be the person that built this bridge!

Dunno where is this supposedly sister bridge is..
I guess it is in Japan!

They used this to make the bridge!

Look how compact it is!

All tourists spots have to have these.. Even if no one reads it..

You can even walk on the bridge if you want.

We didn't walk the whole thing though. Just a quarter of it! It was super windy and cold.

Its definitely not one of the wonders of the world. But just looking at the huge red bridge standing there in the middle of the ocean just gives you a sense of peace. I don't know.. Hard to explain! =)

You must see it for yourself.

Staying Fit!

Everytime somebody comes back from overseas, the first thing that you will think about it whether the person has put on weight. I have always worried about this especially since I´m going to US and we all know what the Americans eat! Big fatty hamburgers and steak that come in super large portions. And the worst part is you don´t feel that you´re growing fat when everyone else is bigger size than you.

So since I started swimming myself, I didn´t really worry about getting fat because I swim like an hour 3 times a week. But now that the swimming season is almost done, and I don´t think i´ll be able to motivate myself to go swimming without my coaches constant scolding, I think I´ll finally face the nightmare of all freshman! The Freshman Fifteen!!! Where all new freshman adds 15 pounds in their first year in the university! I think I have to start buying some weight equipment online and stop myself from becoming a big fat round chubby girl!!!

Argh!!!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 4th Year Anniversary Cody! ^.^

I´m so sorry I can´t be there with you! I love you my darling! Muarx!

Though I did go to Beverly Hills and see all those pretty houses I have never been to Las Vegas at alL! I heard that is a super exciting city! Just a short update!

I love Colombia!!!! Seriously!!! Hehe.. I was in Bogota for a day yesterday and we flew in to Leticia this afternoon! Its a small little town that looks like Alor Setar. And people here ride on motorbikes instead of cars! I know I´m making a big deal out of nothing but in US, people don´t ride in motorbikes, if they do it is those really big and fancy ones, at least from where I come from, which is rich and famous California!

Everyone here speaks Spanish! No one here speaks English! I so wanna learn to speak Spanish!!! ¡Hola! See! I can´t type in the upside down exclamation mark because i´m using a Spanish keyboard! Its so cool! Haha.. I´m in a cyber cafe now and its 1500 pesos for 1 hour. That´s like 1.25 USD? Because 2000 pesos is 1USD. Go convert it to Malaysian dollars yourself.

The weather here reminds me so much of Malaysia. It is so humid here. Hehe.. being in California for 6 months have really made me forget how it is like to sweat! Imagine! I havent sweat in 6 months! Is that a good or bad thing? Haha.. Being here reminds me so much of Malaysia. I wanna go home! Boohoo...

I saw the Amazon river too!!! I´m going on the Amazon river sooN! Wahaha.....

I shall leave it at that to make u guys jealous! Muarx! =)

Branded stuff

I know its bad but I have always been a branded girl. If the item that I´m buying has the brand that I like, no matter how stupidly expensive it is, or how other non-branded items seems to look much better, I will still go for the branded one. Boohoo.. So shoot me! That´s why I´m always poor! And that´s why branded stuff gets more and more expensive with more and more advertisements! I´m a sucker for marketing gimmicks! That´s what my dad always say, mainly because he is the one behind all the marketing gimmicks!

I didn´t know there are Nike golf clubs too!!! I thought golf is more old CEO´s who have nothing else better to do but I guess after Tiger Woods things have change! I wonder if they come in pink! I would absolutely love them!

Hopefully I won't be attacked by piranhas or crocadiles! (I can't spell these things!) Wish me luck!

No time to talk! Have to leave now!

It My Mummy's Birthday!

I don't know about you.. but the more I grow older, the more I feel that though I am going to experience different chapters in my life, there is a part of me that tells me that I'm no more my parents little girl anymore. I am no more the helpless girl that always waits for my parents to save me. Though I want to stay my parents' baby forever, I can't anymore because I can't deny that my parents are aging and soon I will have to be the one to take care of them.

This though kinda scares me sometimes because the very thought of being alone in this world is unbearable. Though I'm not saying that my parents are old but soon, I will be the one that needs to take over the decision making and the taking care of the family. I'm not saying I don't want to do it but it is just scary being the one that has to make all this decisions. From being looked after by your parents to looking after your parents. Its a scary thought.

Don't you feel this way sometimes? I know its the responsibility of children to take care of their parents when they are old and I will do that because I love my parents to bits but I want to stay their little girl forever..

My mum is turning 50 years old today and she just told me that she is half a century old now! Haha.. that was a cute statement but it is true. After this year, time is gonna past by so fast and before you know it, your energetic parents will be 70 or 80 years old. And there will be a day when they will not be with you anymore.

That thought is totally freaking me out.

Ok.. but before that day comes, I know that I have to really appreciate my parents now. Though sometimes it can still be hard because parents are parents and parents get on children's nerves all the time.

But I just wanna wished my mummy this day, when we are not fighting even on skype and tell her that I feel bad for not being there on her big day and wished her a Happy Happy Birthday and a great wonderful year ahead.

I love you mum!

I miss my bed..

Ever since coming back to my university after spending 3 full weeks in San Francisco, I have realized how comfortable I was in my friend's home. Her family treated me so good and I felt totally at home there. The bed that I slept in was a queen size bed (even my friend herself slept on a single bed) and it had two thick comforters as blankets! It was super warm inside! Even though the house was always cold because they rarely on the heater, the bed was always super comfy and whenever you wake up in the morning, you wouldn't want to come out of the covers because it would be freezing. I didn't know how soft the bed was until I came back and slept on my own bed. It was like foam mattress!

I never ever complained about my dorm's bed because I have a comforter on it and it is comparably soft. But after sleeping for 3 weeks in super soft bed, my bed now feels like rock!

Argh.. I don't want to feel unappreciative of my accommodation but I miss my host family's home! Boohoo.. They treated me so good! I wanna go back there!
