Playing cards with family and friends

I'm not usually one to gamble and play cards but on the rare occasions when I go on a trip with friends to like a beach resort or something, we tend to take out our deck of cards and play all sorts of games. No money involved though unless one of us is feeling lucky. But most of the games that we play aren't what you call 'gamble games'.

What type of games do you play with cards? I love playing 'heart attack'! Where everyone puts out a card on the floor and say a number and when that number is the same as your card, you put your hand on the floor and the slowest of all will have to smash everyone's hand. Something lidat. Kinda hard to explain.

And there's the 'fruits game'. Where everyone picks a nickname for yourself, and someone will give you a card. When your card is the same as another person's card, the fastest person that shouts out the opposite person names win. If you lose you'll have to take all his cards. The most cards lose.

Played it before? Ok.. I'm lousy at describing games.

The only game I know that can gamble is Black Jack. I know you can gamble in poker too but I don't really know how to play that game. And the only time where we play Black Jack is during the Chinese New Year! Oooh... That is the best. All the aunty uncles will all sit together with all the nieces and nephews and we'll all play and gamble together.

I won like RM 30 bucks! I told you guys right! Hehe!

But of course all these are done in the comfort of our own home. You wouldn't one to be caught and shave bold! That's scary! That's what happen to a few of our Malaysian guys coz they were caught gambling in a coffee shop. Smart people I say.

There's this new website that offers products on home game packages! They have a whole set of products for you to get if you're interested in setting your very own 'casino' at home. Whether it is Black Jack (which I will choose), Roulette, Poker, or Skill Stop Slots packages, they have everything you need in setting up your very own casino.

What is better than playing in the comforts of your own home with your love ones. Just remember not to get addicted and abandoned your children!

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ONLINE GAMBLING SITE!!!!

Too busy to blog?

Oh dear.. I can't believe this. After 5 months of blogging and up until a few days even posted like 8 post a day, I have finally come down to this!

And I feel so bad about it. I hope you guys don't mind. I know some of you hate reading sponsored post and you may feel that my blog is slowly turning into some big advertising board where earning money is my top priority that I have jeopardize the quality of my blog.

Watershed-Drug and Alcohol Treatment

Did you know that in Malaysia if you're caught selling drugs, you will be sentenced to death? There is a death penalty involved if you're caught? I'm not sure what the other countries' sentences are but it is seriously scary just thinking about it.

Of coz if you take drugs it's kinda a different thing. The punishment will not be that severe but think of what damages you're doing to your body now. The long term effects on it. And the life that you're slowly throwing away.

Why would you wanna throw away everything that you have worked for and earn for just a few minutes of escapism? Is that worth it?

That's why there are more and more Drug Treatments available. But if you don't help yourself, no one will. If you don't make the determination to cure yourself, no one will be able to help you. Too put it more seriously, you're literally digging your own grave.

But if you're aware of your problem and want to change it then there is plenty of help out there for you to seek. You just have to take the first step.

Watershed Drug and Alcohol treatment is one of them. You can contact them and start working on your journey of improving yourself.

Not sure whether you're an addict anot? Check out The Signs & Symptoms of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction and see for yourself if you're one of them.

Know someone that has an addiction problem? Maybe you can lend a hand and make the first move. You may be his/her savier.

Wat are Your Favourite Books of All time?

For you book lovers out there.. I have another list of books again. This time it is from the UK and people over there have voted on the top 100 books that everyone should read!

What do you think? Pretty cool right?

If you noticed, some of the books are books that you read when you were much younger! And I love this list for that. Some books that I have read when I was a kid still stays in my mind to this day. This is the effect it has. So these books does deserve some recognition.

They even have Winnie the Pooh book inside! As much as I love Winnie the Pooh, I haven the slightest idea what the story is about. Haven't read any book of the cute guy yet! Sigh.. I'm a lousy fan!

I read half of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! It was my friend's book so couldn't read finish in time. But I absolutely love the movie! Martin is so cute!!! (is that his name?) He always sound so morbid it's hilarious! Haha..

My mum hated that show though. Dunno why! She has no imagination whatsoever!

Remember Charlie and the Chocholate Factory? Oooh.. I read that book when I was 13, I know that is abit to old for that but I absolutely loved the book! Roald Dahl is cool! I esp love the glass elevator where you can go anywhere you like in the factory! And outer space after that.

Didn't really like the movie they made though. Didn't do justice to the book!

Did you know they have 2 sequels after that? One was with Charlie and his family coz they shot out of the factory with their glass elevator in the last section of the first book. So it kinda continued from there! Haha.. super cool!

And the best book that I still love till this day is books from Enid Blyton! Did you read the Magic Faraway Tree? God.. those were the days I wish I had a forest right outside my house so I could look for my Faraway Tree! With different magical lands on top everyday and the slide in the middle of the tree! I loved that book!

Do you remember?

There's the magic chair too but I kinda forgot the name. It's not in this list though! =(

Enid Blyton books are classic! But kids nowadays don't read them anymore. Kinda sad!

And of course all of Harry Potter Books are inside! Everybody knows that. Not even a discussion here! Haha.. Did you know the last and final book is coming out in July? I CAN'T WAIT!

Health is one of the most important thing in a person's life. If you don't have a good and healthy body, however much money or property you have doesn't matter anymore. Coz you wont be around to enjoy it.

Working again!

I'm working now. Correction! I'm working again! Changed 2 jobs in the past 2 weeks.

Remember I told you that I was doing this telemarketing thing? And letting people reject over and over and over again? Well.. I'm tired and sick of that! Screw those people that keep rejecting me! Hmph! I'm not gonna be there to take all your sh*t from you anymore. Call you with a super cheery voice and all you can do is tell me not to call you again and slam the phone on me?

Who do you think I am?

Ok.. Phew! Enough of that. I shall not waste my post on people like that! Hope it's not one of you imaginary readers! If you are then I guess I'll have to forgive you! Hehe..

Anyway, like I said, I couldn't stand it anymore. Telemarketing is just not my cup of tea. Sitting behind the desk calling managers after managers, speaking to receptionist that don't listen to you, then hearing the boring old elevator music over and over again. Nah.. don't want to do that now!

Doing another job now. A bit more interesting than this. Hehe..

And dealing with customers that are much more innocent and cheerful than those old grumpy managers. Though I just met one that ask me to shut up this afternoon, and even spelled me a f.u.c.k, but ah well.. better than having an old man said that to me.

Yup! Dealing with little kids now. Teaching in a center. Mathematics, Language and stuff. Though my brain is kinda rusty with all the holidaying but somehow I'm good at pretending to them that I actually know the answer! Haha.. Did i mention that the children there are from 3 to 15 years old. Haha.. some are so cute and sweet. But others, like the one mention above..

Let's just say my kids don't turn out like that. Please please please!

Today is my second day there. And I have worked here before last year for like 2 weeks. So nothing much for me to get use to. But seeing my employment history where the longest I have ever worked is like 5 months, I hope I don't switch anymore jobs.

Why can't I find a job that I truly like and stick with it? Why do I feel so terrible after working a few days for a job and can't wait to quit? Is everyone lidat or am I just exceptional? Will I find a job that I truly like?

Anyway, so far this job is kinda nice. Time passes quite fast esp when there is a lot of kids. So hope everything turns out okay and have me working there for the next 3 months. Wish me luck everyone!

Sci-Edge

Remember how when we were in high school we always tease and joked at the class geek? The person that is a total science freak, loves computers, gadgets and scores 100 on his chemistry paper?

Are you one of those geeks that I just mention? Were you always laughed at?

No.. I'm not trying to bring back bad memories. I'm not one that categorize people. I love gadgets too! I want my pink Ipod and my pink Cybershot camera!

But it's always cool to mix around with people that have the same interest as you. Love to talk about how cool the recent product is? Wanna discuss on science, technology and some other jargon that I have no idea on?

Well.. there's this new site called Sci-Edge where you can meet and socialize with people that have the same interest as you. Are you a science hobbyist, technology and gadget geek or a science fiction fan? Well this is the right place to discuss on things you love.

And best of all, if you're a blogger in which I assumed you are, when you sign up (for Free), you can also make money by blogging and posting links! How cool is that?

This site is still brand new! So if you join now, you will have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and make your make. Just like being the first one to use MySpace.

The site will be launching on April 2nd so go have fun!

Go tell your son or brother too if he's interested!

What do you do during the Holidays?

Ah.. I'm in one of my moods again. No.. it's not the time of the month. Juz feeling moody for no reason. There is a reason actually but..

Sigh..

What do you do exactly if you have a full 7 months of holiday in front of you? Ok.. no more 7 full months. More like 4 months.

I'm not talking about some public holiday that you get once in a blue moon after you have worked for god knows how long.. I'm talking about those holidays that you get when you were much younger, (depends how old you are now =P) and how you actually spent it!

If all goes well, I'll be going to the States in August to pursue my studies, but what do I do before that? I have tried staying at home for the first couple of months and even with blogging and sleeping late, I have been so bored that I am literally counting down the days till it ends! And it shouldn't be like that right? I won't be having this kind of holidays anymore and I should make full use of it to learn and gain more knowledge right? And I should live my days like it's the last. Not look to the future.

I heard from some people that people my age used their holidays to backpack around the world. Was that how you spent your holiday? Somehow I feel Malaysians are not that kind of people. It's just not our culture to go backpacking. Once we're on a holiday, we either find ourselves a part time job or just sit around at home. Waiting and waiting and waiting. And I don't like that.

I won't mind backpacking but unfortunately it cost money. So does all the other classes that I was so planning to join when I knew I had such a long holiday. I made such big plans for myself. Go learn Japanese, continue my piano, do some belly dancing class (don't laugh!).. so many things to do. But it all cost money and money is currently a super tight issue with my family now! =(

So wat should I do then? I'm still blogging if you wanna suggest that. I can't do that the whole days. And I have just started taking a part time job. But somehow I feel that I shouldn't just waste my precious few months on some job just to earn that extra few bucks. I can actually go read lots of books, really go take a language and... Just make sure I make the most out of it right?

But how do I do that? Or should I do that?

Should I prepare myself knowledge wise before I embark on my higher education or should I just waste my time away? Doing nothing? I know life would definitely be much more hectic after I officially start my uni life.. But would I regret not fully utilizing my holidays after that? I had so much time in my hands. I could have done something much more productive. Go read the bible, Confucius, William Shakespear, the Quran or something.

What do you think? Any suggestions? I'm out of it already!

Recording Phone Calls - What do you think?

I recently worked as a telemarketer. Though the job lasted for like 4 days, (yeah.. I'm a terrible girl) but I certainly got some experience from the world of telemarketing! The feeling of getting rejected by people you don't know. CEO, Manager.. Being slam down on the phone by some unknown guy just because somebody else called him the day before, lots of terrible experience I must say.

Maybe you are okay with telemarketing, but I'm certainly not the girl for this job!

Though there are some good parts in this. The music that I get to hear while being put on waiting while the receptionist find the person to connect me too! I tell you, some companies don't just provide elevator music. Some of them have the latest hip hop music around. There was one company that had Oasis music playing in the background. It was so cool!!!

I didn't want the person to pick up the phone!!!

But what I don't understand its when some companies tell you before the operator picks up the phone that the phone call is being recorded! Esp if you call 103 the directory. Before somebody actually picks up the phone, they will tell you that the phone call is being recorded for god knows what purposes!

I always wondered why they wanna record the phone call! If there is like 10000 phone calls a day, they're gonna have 10000 records a day? Then where are these kept? Very very weird.

I guess its a preventive measure for some prank caller to suddenly call up the directory and start shouting four letter word to the operator. Maybe if they record it, they can sue the person that disturb them and go to court. Coz they have proof! And that is the record tape.

What do you think? Weird right?

There was this bank that I called to and they said the conversation is being recorded.

What for?

Maybe the manager will hear it every other day and when he/she likes the voice (maybe coz it's sexy or something) he/she will call that person back and ask him/her out for a date!

What do you think?

What are the pros and cons of having a phone conversation recorded anyway?

Maybe when you suspect your husband is cheating on you, then maybe you can put a bug on his office phone. Haha.. I sound like a CIA!

BrickHouse Security is a leader in the phone recorder market and also offers Privacy products to detect and defeat call recording devices.

Wanna start to record phone calls coz you suspect your teenage son is up to no good? Hmm.. Maybe you should give this product a try then! Tell me what happen after that ya!

I bought Books again!

Yup! I just told you wat my obsessions were! Now it's books! I have been buying like 3 books a week! Maybe because everywhere is having sale I don't know but I just love buying books now.

Atria is having this super cheap book fair which is ending on Sunday, 25th March. The books there are dirt cheap I tell you. I can't wait to drop by there and buy somemore books! Oooh.. I love books!

See? This is only Rm10!

Not sure whether this is nice. But it's just RM12!

And 2 books into one! RM 15!

Is Barbara Delinsky a famous writer?

By the way. USD $ 1 is equivalent to RM 3.5. So you go count if you're not a Malaysian. Hehe..

And I haven't read any of them yet.

You read any of them yet?

I bought this from MPH for RM 24.

MPH at One Utama is also having this sale where some books are 30% discount. You would be surprised on what books you will find in the 30% discount section. You would have thought that the books over there would be like super old or something but they have some interesting books over there. But of coz compared to Atria its totally a different thing.

MPH is for books that are new. Atria is for books that may be popular but kinda old.

Both sell brilliant books! Go check it out!

I never read Lord of The Rings before. Only watched the movie. So I figured I should try reading one of his books since it has such a huge fan base and everything. So why not give it a try. I hope its nice.

Which book have you read and what do you think about it?

Wanna share with me whether it's nice or not?

Financial Site

I just finish reading Sophie Kinselle's book on Shopoholic and Baby! Haha.. the gal still never change. Still the same old Becky. The girl that will shop without end in the streets of London, not caring whether her credit card bill is due or whether she is able to afford everything anot.

If you are a fan of her book, you will know that she receives god knows how many credit card bills from various banks and all she does is slip the bill under her pillow. And forget about it.

I wonder how long she can go along with this!

Do you do that too? Do you spend on stuff and worry about paying it later?

What is your Credit Card Billing habits like? I know my mum pays all her credit cards on time and they love her for it. She doesn't need to pay extra fees for her credit cards at all. The yearly thing. Forgot wat you called it.

Do you pay yours on time?

For the sake of yourself and also the bank, I hope you do! =)

I'm absolutely a terrible compulsive shopper. Other than being obsessive with clothes, I tend to have some kind of obsession on something where by I buy and buy and buy non-stop until the particular obsession wears off!

It's kinda seasonal obsession whereby it comes and goes but the time is not always the same. When I was in high school, around the age of 16 and 17, my obsession was with CDs! I would buy one every single time I went out! It got so bad until I bought like 1 CD per week! And mind you I'm a student, so spending RM 40 (USD $14) on a CD per week is no easy task! It totally burnt a whole in my pocket.

Right now I have like over 70 over CDs in my room. They are indeed my precious collection, my treasures but I have no idea how to bring them over when I go over to US to study!

My precious CD collection!

And the thing with this obsession is I only listen to the particular CD when I first bought it. After that I just don't listen to them at all. they're precious of coz but they are just there for me to admire. Weird right?

When I finish high school and esp when I just finished getting my chicken pox, my obsession was make-up. I was obsesses in going over magazines, seeing which brand has the best product, going over to the make-up counter asking to try this and that though I have tried it god knows how many times, and spending over hundreds over ringgit in buying all these stuff!!!

And I'm totally a branded person. I rather not use anything than use some over the counter make-up so of coz this obsession totally burnt a hole in my pocket again. And I'm totally not a make-up gal. I was so obsesses about it in the first place was because I got chicky scars all over my face, and my ex-high school galfriend just got back from Australia and she was all made-up! So kinda made me feel.. you know..

Not so confident!

Unfortunately, after spending so much money on make-up, buying foundation, lip gloss, (I assumed you guys can't differentiate them at alL!) blusher.. bla bla and bla.. I don't use a single one of them now! My scars on my face are slowly disappearing and I don't wanna wear make-up now! It feels so hot and bluek!!! Don't like.

So one obsession down the drain agaiN!

Now.. my obsession is with books!!! Yeah.. of all time right? I buy so many books where am I gonna put them? My family is migrating to Vietnam soon and I'm just adding to their rubbish! I can't very well bring them to my university when I get there..

Can I?

I'm buying 2 to 3 books a week and I'm reading like 1 book 2 weeks! Don't ya think it's a waste of money?

Sigh.. told u it's my obsession!

Do you have an obsession?

Life-Death?

Yeah.. What we're having now is life. No one can escape life. No one can escape death. We believe that we're in this world with a mission to accomplish and with that, we continue with our respective life and try to make the best of it.

But why do we have to face so many challenges and problems? And make choices that are sometimes just wrong?

Last Wednesday I attended one of my dad's friend's wake. He was a 52 year old man who passed away on Monday night in bed due to stroke. It was a total shock for all of us. I didn't even believe it when I receive the message saying that he passed away. I tried hard to remember when was the last time I saw him and I couldn't remember it at all. There was no preparations, telling us he was sick or something, None! Zilch. Just boom, a sms to tell us he has passed away.

I don't really know this uncle very well but I know he was a super nice guy that works hard for his family. He was kind to his friends and made jokes with everyone. I will always remember him as the guy that wears a small bag on his waist and sits motorbikes wherever he goes. And that he always teases me.

Life is so fragile sometimes. One minute you are talking to this person and next, he's gone. And this is just a friend of my dad. Not someone that is close to you. I can't imagine talking to someone I love dearly and knowing at the next moment that I will not be seeing this person ever again.

This is the first time that I have been to a person funeral that is around the same age as my parents. I'm not getting any younger, as I slowly grow older I know that my parents are getting older too and it sometimes frightens me. What will I do if something does happen to either of them?

And for these past few days I have been complaining to myself day in day out how terrible my mum is treating me. How sometimes I feel that she doesn't treat me as a daughter but as someone else. That she is jealous of me. Of something that I don't know. Sometimes I even think of moving out! I get so frustrated sometimes.

But this is life isn't it? You just don't appreciate what is around you until its gone.

Maternity Savings

This is a sponsored post.

It's not cheap having children. In fact more and more people are opting to have less and less children because the cost of having children are so high now. The hospital fee, diapers, check-ups, and we're not even touching on the subject of higher education.

Kinda scary right thinking about it. No wonder families are getting smaller and smaller. Gone were the days where a family had over 10 children! I know my mum herself has 13 brothers and sisters!

But it is also a wonderful experience by itself too right? Not that I have experienced it before but from the way I see other mothers relate their experience, it's truly a magical feeling! Giving birth to a new life!

If you are already expecting a bundle of joy in a few months, check out MaternitySavings.com/ They offer reasonable pricedMaternity Health Insurance which I understand is hard to come by! MaternitySavings can help make the best decision on how to handle the cost of having a baby. That means saving money. And we all need to save as much money as we can. You never know what might happen!

They even provide a MaternityCard which is specifically design to allow pregnant women to afford the rising costs of delivering babies by reducing the cost up to 60%!

So go check it out. And good luck with your little bundle of joy! =)

Mental Health Resources

Mental Health still has a long way to go until it will be fully recognized as a medical condition. Lots of people still think that mental health is something that you have to overcome yourself and not something that you have to see a doctor and eat medicine to be cured. I admit that I used to be one that thinks this way too..

The Therapist Finder was launced in 1996. That is like 11 years ago. It was the first directory that features online therapist. They have came out with a concept where they sort out therapist though the treatment area, modality, language, gender, managed care and location. They have been around for such a long time and now they have improved and has just came up with a new hight-tech search engine!

It is super easy to find a therapist using this site. You can read about therapist online, and not flip through the yellow pages slowly looking for some good therapist. Wanna look for a Denver Counselor?

Here's the place!

Their 7-factor search engine is also totally unique. Now you can find specialist in certain areas or therapist who only take certain insurance.

This is also the place where you can find all kinds of useful resources for those that are interested in mental health or disability issues. They are always working hard to stay on top of all the developments in the mental health and disability fields to provide us with the most up-to-date information!

So I think it's time for us to do something and start getting ourselves more educated in this issue.

Plastic Surgeon

Are you satisfied with your looks? Your nose? Your mouth? Or you think you're too fat? Or you have just noticed a few wrinkles on your face?

No matter what people say about beauty being important inside and not outside. Some of us are still weary of our looks and seek to improve them in whatever way possible.

Though I'm against going under the knife to change something about yourself, I won't stop anyone if that is what they wanna do! In my opinion, beauty is all about being confident with yourself. You can be as pretty as you want but if you don't believe it yourself, no one will.

That's just my opinion. Some people do think that going under the knife can totally change their life. Their career, their relationship everything. If they feel that way, and so be it. It's their prerogative.

So if you one of those people that are finding for a good Plastic Surgeon, Rodeo Drive's Plastic Surgery plastic surgeon offers cutting0edge procedures.

It is the only plastic surgery center on world-famous Rodeo Drive. This Beverly Hills plastic surgery center offers the latest techniques for cosmetic surgery procedures which include tummy tuck, liposuction, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and botox.

Their work in providing celebrity plastic surgery has even featured in the national and international media!

Check out how posh their place is. How I wish I had the money too. Haha..

Good Luck Ya!

Are you an Honest Person?

Sigh.. sometimes I think I'm too good for my own good. Too honest and too nice. A goody two shoes girl. And this is not to my advantage. Sometimes I feel as though the one loosing out is me. BIG TIME!

I'm currently looking for a job now and everywhere I go people will definitely ask me how long I can work. And I have just recently found out that even if you're gonna work for just 2 or 3 months, don't tell people that. Tell people that you can actually work forever! Don't tell them that you're on a holiday or something. That's wat my dad told me when I ask him whether I should be honest about me leaving to US soon? He was like,

'Do you want the job or not?'

Don't tell them if you want the job. That's life. And people do that all the time.

Ok.. maybe in the real world it is like that. You tell people lies so that you can get the job. And when you had have enough, you quit. Maybe I'm still innocent and naive. Thinking that honesty is the best policy. But seriously?

We're talking about real jobs here. Not those part time clothing store kind of jobs.

I have 4 more months before I head to the States to study and I am totally bored staying at home doing nothing. Yes.. Blogging is something but I can't do that the whole day. Kinda ran out of ideas to write.

Anyway, I was applying for this position in this company. Actually it was just a coincidence that I found out they had a vacancy. I went there to ask about something, and just casually ask them whether they had any vacancies. And the girl in the reception said yes. And ask me to take a test and the next minute I know, she was calling me in for an interview.

So off I went for my first interview. Boy was it scary. Before I went in I mean. I spent like the whole day yesterday asking my dad for help in writing a resume. Goodness. It's not an easy thing to do. I dunno how you guys do it.

Anyway, the person that interviewed me kinda looked scary. She looked like those totally outspoken super successful career woman that will speak what's on her mind immediately and I was horrified. But suprisingly, once I got into the room and started chatting with her, it went out quite nice. Very good in fact. She told me that she's looking for someone that can work for more than one year. Because she don't wanna train that person and have him/her walk out after 3 months. And its a Marketing position. I will have to deal with potential clients and stuff.

Imagine me doing that! I dunno about you. But I kinda feel that I'm not cut out for it. Given that I'm just a high school graduate. But she seemed genuinely interested in me. And I started feeling so very bad. I know I could only work for the next 3 months or so. And I also knew that I could go on with this job and when that day comes, just walk out and never look back. Taking along all the experience and training I have just received.

But I couldn't do that. That would be totally irresponsible of me. How would they feel if I suddenly walk out and leave them with no one. That would be terrible right?

So I finally told her that I am actually looking for a short term job. And I can't work that long for them. She was perfectly nice about it. And off I went.

I could have worked for the next 3 months, get a feel on what marketing is like since I have no idea what it is, feel how its like working in a real office environment and meeting different people every time, and quit after 3 months.

AHHHHHHHHHH....... I'M SO STUPID!!!

No job. Just an honest person. But no job!

What would you do?

#1 online agent for Verizon cell phones

My dad just bought a new phone again. He's phone was barely a year old and now he has bought a new phone. Guys! All of them are the same. They're all slaves to gadget. Even an old man like my father.

Haha.. Sorry dad. Hope he doesn't read this.

I want a new phone too.. I have said this a billion times and I'm gonna say it again. I WANT A NEW PHONE!!! Boohooo...

Doesn't this look super sexy?

But unfortunately I don't really know what phone to buy. That's so many phones out there and new phone come in practically every second. Who's to know that the minute you made a commitment to buy a new phone, out comes the new one with nicer sleeker look and cooler features?

And let's be honest here, we're not Paris Hilton wannabes! And most of the countries, Malaysia excluded provides you with a new phone every time you sign up for a new line. So people like you that lives all the way across my country get to change phone like you change underwear!

Unfortunately, most of the networks provide lousy super ancient phones.

Well.. Verizon has one of the best wireless networks in the country networks in the country. But they haven't always been known to have the coolest phones or greatest prices. Best network but lousy phones.

Fortunately for us, they're slowly improving themselves now and guess what they're gonna let people like you and me use for free if we use their network?

A really trendy new phone like LG Mint Chocolate.

That would be super cool right?

Their deals change daily. But right now this very moment you can get free Verizon Razrs (no Verizon or Wirefly rebates required) when you open a new account.

What you waiting for?

Artists' jewelry & galleries

I just love accessories. I'm a girl and I'm happy to be a girl because I can dressed and be pretty all I want. Not that a guy can't do that but you know what I mean. =)

A plain outfit can be changed to be totally glamorous with a touch of some beautiful unique jewelry. Wanna have a bohemian look? Then wear a big chunky wooden necklace. Wanna look all bling bling? Then go for big bright gold chain.

Ah.. the wonders of being a woman. Wahaha..

And now, we have an extra outlet to do our shopping. Online shopping! Although I love walking through the malls slowly admiring my favourite bracelets, bags and earrings but there's no harm sitting in front of the computer browsing through beautiful jewelry too right? Even better. Now I can do it in the comfort of my own home.

Artisansmarket.com is the perfect place to find nice and unique jewelry.

They have everything there. From clothing, to footwear, to fine art, to furniture. Everything that has got to do with selling art online. And their stuff are seriously amazing. I'm not joking. The various colorful beads that they use, their clothing and even their bowls. All super special. I like their Natural Edge Amboyna Burl Bowl the best!

Go rediscover the girly girl in you!

Tengku Adnan trying to redeem himself? Too late

Haha.. somebody scared of bloggers now? Realized that most of his voters are all female? Trying to reclaimed back his lost 'votes'?

Haha.. It never even existed in the first place. Sorry.

For those in the dark, Malaysian Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has claimed that.. prepare for this ya..

"Bloggers are liars. They use all sort of ways to cheat others. From what I know, out of 10,000 unemployed bloggers, 8,000 are women.

“Bloggers like to spread rumors, they don’t like national unity. Today our country has achievements because we are tolerant and compromising. Otherwise we will have civil war. "

Yup.. I'm a liar. Unfortunately so. Don't wanna be one but I love blogging too much to give it up .. So i guess I'll just have to live with being an unemployed liar.

And talk about civil war. Goodness. Ironical.

Our government officers always have the habit of saying the most outrageous things. Totally qualified to be in our History textbooks! Don't ya agree? But that would be a total waste of papers. Esp our precious trees!

But I guess after reading some 'hate mail' on blogs himself he felt that he needed some woman supporters. Who knows what would happen if he didn't get women supporters. So in today's The Star newspaper, he tried to redeemed himself.

'Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has clarified that he did not label all women bloggers as liars.

Tengku Adnan said he loved “all women” and was “here because of a woman.”

“In fact, most of my supporters in my constituency are women,” he said. '

Right. Now he just made everything even worst because now we all know that he DID say it in the first place.

Haha.. I couldn't stop laughing when I first read the article. Don't you think its just hilarious?

Oh.. well.. Now at least everyone knows who Tengku Adnan is. Good publicity. Talk about being the Tourism Minister of Malaysia. Not bad!

Telemarketing, What do you think?

Ok guys. I need your opinion in this. I have worked for telemarketing jobs before. You know those kind where a telemarketer calls you with his/her high chirpy voice and sells you a product?

What do you think of them?

I agree some maybe really pursuasive and wouldn't hang up the phone unless you slam down personally but not everyone is like that. And I do agree that some telemarketers are selling products which are totally fake or telling you again and again that you have just won like $10000 ringgit. And ask you to come over to the office and collect the prize but in actual fact its a scam to get you to buy something?

Yes.. I know they can be rather annoying esp if you are having something on or you're busy but what if that product is really interesting and beneficial to you?

And what if he or she is not calling to sell a product, he/she calls you because you're some CEO or General Manager of the company and would like to invite you to attend a seminar which was organized by maybe Microsoft, or say IBM. And you can actually learn something from it. And you get free breakfast, lunch and tea. And maybe some goodie bag too. Would you be interested to attend? How do you feel when these people call you when you're working?

What about if somebody calls you and ask you to attend a forum or some discussion thing to discuss on your area of expertise and PAY you money to attend. Would you be interested to attend? Or would you say no RIGHT after the telemarketer finish reading his/her script immediately?

NO!!!

What would you do? These people need opinions on some products or some service and they need your help to tell them what you think. And they value you because they know you're in the field and have experience in that product or service. And they even pay you for it. Would you be interested?

Some people are just plain rude I tell you. From my experience in during these jobs, I had some really nasty people that immediately give you a big NO without giving you a chance to speak!!! What if you were in my shoes? I have a whole list to call and I have target to fill. And day in day out I get multiple rejections for whatever reasons.

So if you receive some telemarketers' call, and you're really not interested, just say a kind no. And try to feel bad about it. You are rejecting people right? So say it kindly la.

If not pain pain you know. Let people reject again and again.

That's why I don't like telemarketers job. Other than facing the phone all day long which is so monotonous, you have to deal with people that couldn't care less what you're feeling is.

But its not that terrible. There are some people that are super nice. They joke with you and actually try and be nice to you. These people are really hard to find but they do exist. And even if they do reject you, it doesn't really matter coz they just made your day.

So do be nice to telemarketers okay? They maybe your friend's kids, your niece or nephews, or even me! =)

Good News for Audio Books

If you are a frequent imaginary reader of my blog in which I hope you are, you would know that I love books! I love buying and collecting books. Whether I read it or not is another story but I absolutely adore books. The smell of it, the feel of having a brand new book, everything about it.

But with technology now, books may be a thing of a past.

The fact is known that books are slowly losing it's customers because there is such thing called audio books now. There is audio for books now. Audio books are now the Publishing industry fastest growing segment and we can see why. You can listen to your favorite books on the go. Whatever you are, whatever you are doing. You can listen to it anytime you want. While you worked out, while you're relaxing on your porch, anything. Audio books have became another source for those looking for an alternative to reading, and it's becoming more and more popular because of its practicality, ease of use and affordability. And now, you can get your favorite audio books online.

It's especially convenient if you're that kind that are super busy and don't have time to curl up on the sofa and actually read a book. Best for a busy executive, a mom doubling as an after-school chauffeur or a student looking to increase comprehension, audio books are definitely the in thing now.

Imagine listening to Harry Potter while you're running on the beach. Not bad right?

Audioforbooks.com provides relevant information to the industry as well as recommends merchants that are interested in purchasing audio books with an objective of becoming an authority and reference on the subject.

So check it out if you're interested. It's definitely an interesting alternative.

Off to bed now..

I think I'm going to bed now. Gonna have a long day tomorrow. Even though I slept for like 3 hours in the afternoon. How am I gonna sleep now? Oh dear..

But must sleep. Have to get up early tomorrow.

*smiles*

Will update you guys on it tomorrow. Hope everything turns out okay.

Wish me luck!

Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King

Oooh.. this is my first book review.

I'm not a big fan of Stephen King books. I have definitely heard of him of course. Who wouldn't?

But up until recently I have not touch a single book of his. Why? Because I'm afraid of being afraid. Cody is quite a big fan of Stephen King and he's always telling me his stories. And its scary. =(

The first book I picked up was Insomnia and that was during my high school days. After reading a quarter of the book, I couldn't go on anymore. It wasn't like gory or terrifying but it was more like a psychological thriller. Its scary in a way that makes you think it may happen. Coz its so real and true.

Not some green monster or something.

Cody was the one that introduce me to this book. He told me that this was one book of Stephen King that wasn't scary and I took him out for it. And I was quite impressed.

Hearts in Atlantis consists of multiple short stories which shows how the different characters are linked to each other. How the characters developed in different events and different time and how somehow they're all connected to each other.

And though some parts may seem far-fetch but somehow it gives you the feeling that it may be possible. Anything in possible in this world. Somethings are just to difficult to explain. But it just may be possible.

The story starts with an 11 year old boy, Bobby Garfield and how he discovers the world of 'aliens' by being friends with an old man, Ted. Here the story shows how an innocent boy slowly grows up to be a man and shedding all his innocence at the same time.

The second story however revolves around a group of college boys and how addicted they become to a game of 'hearts'. And slowly how their lives starts to crumble when their addiction becomes serious.

The first 2 stories were very interesting and it really got me hooked. But after that the story sort of got draggie and pointless. I have to admit I even skip a few pages.

I used approximately 5 months to finish this book. I don't normally read this slow. After reading the first 3 stories, I just stopped. But I can't give up on a book! Right? So I took it up again this morning and I was pleasantly surprised.

The ending of the story is really meaningful and special. It is put in a way that may sound absurd but like I said, nothing in this world is impossible right? Go read it if you wanna know what I mean.

A good read if you ask me. Other than a few boring parts. A good book provokes some thought in you and this definitely does.

Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch Risks

There are a lot of contraceptives out there to help with family planning but we really must be careful on what product we use. Some may unknowingly caused unknown side effects that may harm us.

Lawsuits have been filed on the manufacturer of Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch. It seems that the patch has been shown to cause up to 11 times the serious injuries as the pill and has been linked to stokes, heart attacks, pulmonary embolism and blood clots. Not to mention other serious injuries. The manufacturer has been known to concealed these risks of serious injuries and death while aggressively marketing the patch esp to young women.

phlawfirm.com contains information about these risks and the legal rights of those who have been injured by this patch.

Books Warehouse Sale

As my imaginary readers, you guys will always have access to good stuff. Not that I get first hand information but if I find anything that I like, I will definitely share with you guys.

Book lovers?

Well.. There's a warehouse sale in Atria Shopping Complex Damansara Jaya. Its by Big Bookshop. Dunno whether they're closing down or something but the books there are seriously cheap.

See this book over here?

Past Secrets by Cathy Kelly? Not sure whether its nice or not but its just RM 10 bucks!!! And its hot from the shelves.

Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern is also RM10 bucks. If I'm not mistaken.

Too bad I read it already.

I found this book okay okay only. Kinda draggy. It just goes round and round on how two people that love each other can't seem to be together. Kinda sad if you ask me. Not a feel good book.
But special because the whole book comprises of e-mails and letters between the main characters. And with that the story slowly unfolds itself. Couldn't wait for it to end so I would know the ending but nothing to shout about. But a definite chick lit.

Wouldn't mind trying her new book, A Place Called Here.

New credit card site

Are you those people that go around carrying large amounts of money where ever you go and just don't bother using credit cards or are you those kind that have multiple credit cards and hate bringing large amount of cash everywhere?

Do you use your credit card everywhere? Every opportunity you get?

I know my mum is one of the latter group. Everywhere she goes she must make sure that the place accepts credit card. Or else she would either not go in or she would make a big fuss out of it.

I once ask her why she must use her credit card everywhere? What's the difference? And she told me that she uses her credit cards so often was because she can collect loyalty points at the same time.

Talk about marketing gimmicks!

My mum is a definite sucker for this. She loves going through the catalogue and slowly thinking what to redeem when the time cones. And I'm sure my mum is not the only one.

Whatever the reason it is, its no denying that credit cards are a definite luxury now. Not to mention convenience and a necessity.

I bought books today!!!

Oooh.. I having an obsessions with books lately. Been going to warehouse sales to buy books, library to borrow them and now to a real bookstore to buy one too!!! Talk about saving money! Hmph! Right.

Luckily this time my dad was there to take out his credit card. Wish he would do that for my clothes too.. But a girl can't ask too much can she? =(

Did you know MPH is having a small little sale for its MRC members? 15% discount on all books!!! I wanted to buy Time Traveler's Wife with the discount and everything. Not to mention my dad around too but I COULDN"T FIND IT!!! Out of stock!!!

Geram!!! (means angry) Bluek!!! Ah.... Now I have to pay myself. I know.. I know.. I'm a spoiled girl.

Guess what book I found? After doing the tag in my previous post, I really went and paid special attention to books that were in the list. And I have heard about this book for a long time already but didn't really know it existed. I first knew about this book when I was reading Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King. This book was mention inside by one of the characters. A gift given by an old man to a young 11 year old by. Then I didn't really know it existed because its from the book and everything but the way Stephen King describe it.

''The best book that you have read! The only book that you need to read to fully be a man.''

Or something to that effect.

Until I saw the title just now on the list and later in MPH!!! I knew I had to get it!!! Wahaha.. Now I do!!!

Read this before? Lord of the Flies?

There was a stall outside MPH too. Books that are much cheaper. Around 30% discount! By MPH too of coz. I think these are the left overs from the warehouse sale. Though it was slightly more expensive compared to the warehouse sale but who cares! Hehe..

Bought 2 books!

The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

Heard about this book for a long time but never gotten down to actually read it. Mainly because I think it will be boring but I shouldn't judge a book by its cover right? Shall give it the benefit of the doubt! =)

Saw this in the list in my previous post. And read some reviews on it. Seems that this book is hilarious. Hmm... It remains to be seen!

Catch 22 by Joseph Heller

Saw Life of Pi by Yann Martel, I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb, One Hundred Years Of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. Think I should buy any of these? I'll have to fork out my own money this time. What do you think? Worth it?

Now I just have to start reading all these books. Oh dear... I'm having an obsession now.. Oh dear.. Oh dear..

So.. Read any of these books before? What do you think? Go check out MPH if you wanna buy some books. Maybe you can contact me if you don't have the card.

Have fun reading!

Interracial Dating Site

I remember when I was in High School I had this girlfriend, Amelia who told all of us that she will only date 'white' guys when she grows up. Too her, Malaysian guys are just too boring. She wanted some foreign guy to sweep her off her feet. Not to mention have beautiful children with him.

I didn't really agree with her at that time because my dad has always told me, in a joking way I presumed that if I ever come back with a black guy, he wont have a daughter anymore. That was when I was younger.

But now.. he kinda always jokes that maybe he will have a black guy as a son-in-law. Seeing that I'm going US and all. Who knows?

Though Malaysian society is still quite conservative regarding this issue I feel that interracial dating is a very special thing. A bond between two different cultures. So what if their traditions and cultures are different. Deep down we still have the same dreams and desires right? Strip off all our skin colour, we are all human beings. Nothing different about that.

Afroromance.com is a popular interracial dating site. You can find different people from different countries all over the world. They even have Success Stories which shows how hundreds of happy couples met using this service.

So go ahead. Your children will be super attractive! =)

And the ones that are in yellow are books that I have but haven't gotten around to reading it.

Wow.. 16 out of 100 books! I have certainly been not reading lots of books. Maybe I have been reading the wrong books all the time. Haha.. Its hard reading 'good' books. Esp books like Les Miserables (Hugo). You have to be a very strong serious reader to be able to read it. Don't ya think so?

I'm saving money to buy the Time Traveler's Wife!

Some books like Lord of the Rings, Gone with the Wind, and Wuthering Heights are made into movies. So kinda lazy to read the books. But books are different right? They're always better.

But I'm sure they're books out there that are just as qualified to fit into this list. Hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. Anyone knows any books like this?

I wonder what the other books are about. To be in this list must be something. Whether this list is important anot. I shall go look out for these books are go try and read it. Wonder how it would be like if I have read all 100 books in this list?

Copy and paste it in your blog if you wanna do this tag!

What books have you read and love most in this list?

I LOVE BOOKS! =)

Review: www.bookmarkall.com

I'm not a very tech-savvy person but whenever I see some program that sounds interesting and seems secured, I'll download it and use it for myself. Esp those that are recommended by my friends or my bloggerfriends.

Now.. there's something new for me to share with you guys. www.BookmarkAll.com is a free online bookmark service and browser toolbar.

Click here to see How it works.

What are the advantages of using a this bookmarking toolbar? Well.. first of is the general convenience and security advantages that you get from it. Because you have to sign up with a user name, others can't access to your bookmarks. Meaning your employer wont be able to know what your favorite porn site is. =)

It works better with IE/Firefox toolbar. With that, you can have quick access to your online bookmarks.

With this online bookmark, you can save all your favorite sites and list them down under a 'public topics' so others can access to them too. This will help other users to find related topics which saves them lots of time to search through various search engines again. Not to mention it's fun to discover new sites from other user's public topics.

Bookmarkall provides both online and social bookmark (public topic) features. You can access to your bookmarks wherever you are using whatever computers. You can also create unlimited topics instead of just having one bookmark tied to one username. Compared to other online bookmarks, this certainly has its advantages.
