Luke and Lorelai story

Oooh.. I absolutely love Gilmore Girls. From the 1st moment i saw them in the pilot episode, i fell in love with it. Who would have known that after so many years, this series is still on...

For those Gilmore Girls illiterate, (where have you been?) it is a story about the relationship between mother and daughter. Mother being Lorelai Gilmore and daughter being Rory Gilmore. What makes this show so interesting is the witty conversation they exchange every single time they're together and their super special mother-daughter relationship that they share.

Tell you a little secret: My relationship with my mum is nothing like theirs! =(

Oh well.. this is TV we're talking about.

Anyway, one of the most interesting bits of the story is also about how this two mother and daughter deal with their own respective love lives. And what i personally love most is how Lorelai and Luke finally got together in Season 4. Just a bit information, Luke is the owner of a diner that Lorelai and Rory frequently visits and from the 1st season until now, Luke has always had a thing for Lorelai. So after 4 seasons, they finally got together.

*spoilers ahead*

Malaysia, slow as it is, is currently showing Season 5 now, but curious as I am, i went on the the internet and googled up Gilmore Girls and found out that something terrible will happen between them somewhere is Season 7!!! Argh!!! I hate this producers!!! All they know how to do is torment we poor viewers souls!

I mean what is it with Christopher? I havent seen Season 7 yet but why must he get back with Lorelai? He got his chance like 10000 years ago. Loser of a guy. They were almost gonna get back together and suddenly, the girlfriend called him and told him she was pregnant and boom!!! Off he went!!! What a guy.. and now there are supposed to be together again? Stupid producers!!! >.<>.<

They had better make them get together again or else...!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! =)

Harry Potter Seventh book!!!

According to my sources.. It seems that the last and final book (or so it seems) of the Harry Potter installment is finally out. The title i mean..

*drum roll*

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Can someone please tell me why is this picture accompanying it? This picture looks so gay!

I love the Harry Potter series but am quite angry that Professor Dumbledore died in the last book. I hope somehow he gets revive again! hehe.. This is the magic world we are talking about right? Anything can happen! Hopefully.. =(

And what happen to Harry Potter's godfather. I liked him very much. Do hope he comes back.

It seems that 2 character is going to die... I wonder who.. Hope it is Professor Snape. Though i doubt it. Nothing seems to happen to him. Though he's good and everything but I just don't like him!!! >.< href="http://www.jkrowling.com/">J.K.Rowling official website. Its really interesting clicking on everything. I spent like 1 hour there reading and clicking everything! =)

Can't wait for the book to come out! =)

Food in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Hello guys... After so many days of slow internet connection and laziness. =) I can finally blog happily! Hehe...

I went to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah last week. It took me 2 hours to fly across the South China Sea into KK. I'm a Sabahan. Yup... I was actually born there but migrated over to West Malaysia 8 years ago because my dad found so called 'greener pastures' over there. Needless to say, after 8 years, I am still happily surviving in good ol KL! =)

So for the past whole of last week, I have been around KK slowly savoring all my favorite food which I grew up in. GOodness... even after 8 years, none of them change. They all still taste wonderful! Makes me wanna fly back there all over again and eat it.

The first one that I’m gonna show you is what we call 'Yu Wat' over there. I don't know what is the name of the shop but we call it 'Yu Wat' coz of what they serve there. It is famous for its 'Yu Wat' which is a kind of fish paste weirdly shape ball.

For those KK people I’m sure you guys know what I am talking about. It somewhere near Sunny Garden or something lidat. I used to remember how much I hated going to this place. My mum absolutely loves the Wan Tan Mee (egg noodles) over here and we use to have to come here almost every weekend. I don't like eating Wan Tan Mee so I generally dislike going there too. But after finding out that they served superb Mee Hoon (vermicelli) too... Well I was hooked too.

The Mee Hoon that they served is a bit different that wat they normally serve back in West Malaysia. For one thing, it is much fatter. And I love it that way! Yum!!!

The Wan Tan Mee. Notice the weirdly shape fish paste balls? If you're not carefull you may find a fish bone inside.

They served really nice porridge too. You can choose from a selection of beef slices, weirdly shaped fish paste balls, prawns, and fish slices.

One thing that was a major difference was its pricing. It used to be around RM4 one bowl. Now it’s around RM 6 to RM 7 for one plate of noodles. Wow... Over in small town KK.

But we still went there and eat. Old habits die hard! =)

Even the chrysanthemum they serve here is different. They boil it themselves and even give you the flowers.

You have to filter it yourself.

Cant find it anywhere else!

For dinner we went to this place called 'Man Tai'. If I am not mistaken, the food over there is from Beaufort or something. Another small satellite town in Sabah. They serve rice and noodles. Wonderfully served.

It’s around Supertanker Restaurant. Next to it to be exact but recently when I went back, they seem to have branches all around. Somebody is definitely making money over there.

The best dish over here is the vegetables. I know it looks normal but the taste is really unique. Ahh.. Wonderful!

Egg with char siew! (pork!)

Tou fu!

Sweet and Sour Pork!

And finally the noodles. I am not a big fan of noodles but this is really yummylicious!

And my favourite Fried Mee Hoon!!!! And its the Fat one!

Don't worry... This is not all. KK has much more fattening food than this. But I’m gonna continue some other day! Stay tuned! =)

While I was in KLIA Airport. I took some pictures of the plane I was about to sit. Hmm... I din realize they were gonna make 2007 a year to Visit Malaysia. Yeah... I know... I rarely read the newspapers but hey! They even painted the airplanes that!

So what are you guys waiting for? Come to Malaysia next year! =)

Our majestic Malaysian Airlines airplane ready to take us off!!!

VROOM!!!

So what are you guys waiting for. Come to Malaysia next year! =)

Say No to Domestic Violence

Luca

My name is Luka, I live on the second floor
I live upstairs from you, Yes I think you've seen me before
If you hear something late at night,
Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was

Maybe it's because I'm clumsy, I try not to talk too loud
Maybe it's because I'm crazy, I try not to act too proud
They only hit until you cry, And after that you don't ask why
You just don't argue anymore

Yes, I think I'm okay, Walked into the door again
If you ask that's what I'll say, And it's not your business anyway
I guess I'd like to be alone, With nothing broken, nothing thrown
Just don't ask me how I am

My name is Luka, I live on the second floor
I live upstairs from you, Yes I think you've seen me before
If you hear something late at night,
Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was

Malaysia Sweet Malaysia

I'm finally back in Malaysia now... Ah... Home sweet home. You never realized how beautiful your home country is until and unless you face the prospect of living in another country for god knows how long.

Seriously, although technically it was just a holiday for me but the mere thought of leaving Malaysia, my home, my country was quite a sad thought. I know Malaysia has it flaws and everything. What with the recent outcry of dress codes in Kelantan, government enforcing cyber laws and everything. It sometimes can be quite frustrating living in Malaysia.

But hey... love is to be able to accept everything about the person right?

Same goes to my country too..

My family and I finally touched down on Wednesday and the sense of belonging radiantly filled my heart. I was so relieved and glad to be home.

I wonder why I made such a big deal out of this whole thing.

On the ride home from KLIA on the taxi, I was slowly appreciating everything that was around me. Hehe.. the PLUS highway, the trees, the houses, my beloved Twin Towers. Sigh.. Beautiful! =)

Lets not even start with what I’m gonna miss most when I leave. Yes.. The FOOD!!! There's no Malaysian food over there... what am I gonna do?

Well... I guess this is what it takes to be a global citizen. To be able to absorb and celebrate other country's culture and beauty. It’s really not as easy as it sounds.

*small voice*

I wanna stay home.. =(

The taxi service in KLIA is really getting from bad to worst. A few years back, once you get down from the plane, you can immediately catch a taxi to whatever destination to fits you.

Now, it’s not only expensive but you have to wait for at least 1 hour to get a cab.

Malaysia oh Malaysia.. Is this the first impression you wanna give our foreigners the minute they get set their eyes on our beautiful country?

However, I heard that they give priority to foreigners in selling taxi tickets.

No wonder we locals have to wait...

>.< Ok... no more talking bad about my country. Here are some pictures I took from the plane! =)

This kinda reminds me of the show 'Lost' where everyone was sucked into this thing.

Scary!

Is it nice? Is it? Hehe... The beautiful clouds and Mr.Sun. I use to always think how lovely it would be to lie down on one of those fluffy clouds. But some 'humbug' pointed out to me that clouds are made of water vapour. Thanks a lot. =( Bursting my childhood wonders!

Just imagine we see this wherever we are. Any part of the world. We are no different actually. You and I. We share the same planet. Our beloved earth. What is different is the colour of our skin, the languages we speak, the food we eat, or the tradisions we follow.

Or is it really that different?

I was quite suprised that you can actually take pictures on the plane. I mean with all the window and everything. This goes to show how terrible I am in photography. But am slowly learning now! =)

I'm going of again to KK, Sabah for the next week. Don't think I'll be able to online over there. Have a nice week you guys! ^.^

Christmas in Vietnam

I can feel the Christmas spirit already in Blogspere nowadays! It is another month away from Christmas (almost!) but everybody is busy putting Christmas pictures on their blogs! So figured since I'm in Vietnam, I should do the same too..

Here are some pictures i took while walking in town today.. Some are pretty cute..! =)

Snow man all having 'tortured' expressions. Wonder why?

Dun take away me pressies! >.<
Tree of lights! Beautiful..

Took this while I was on the escalator! Hehe.. Nice dresses!

One thing I have to mention also is the coffee in Vietnam. For all coffee lovers out there.. all over the world.. There's another country now that serves delicious coffee.. Not Italy, or Africa but yup.. In Vietnam.

I'm here to present u with...

Highlands Coffee!!!

Not sure why its called Highlands. It makes you high when you drink it!

The sweet aroma of...

Coffee Beans! Weird colour though..

Nope.. its not San Francisco Coffee house, or Coffee Bean or Starbucks.. Its Vietnam's very own homemade Highlands Coffee!!!

I was skeptical of it at first when i heard my mum said it was the best coffee in the world.. But coming from an ardent coffee lover herself, it was quite a statement coming from her! It muz be something.. i thought!

Mummy playing! =.=

And I was right!

They served very little though.. The glass came and it was filled to the brim with ice! And the coffee was only half-filled! Ice black coffee was the best though.. i tried the one with milk and i didn't really like it. Maybe i personally don't like coffee with milk.

The atmosphere was cosy and comfy too.. With plush sofas and dim lighting. Beat that Starbucks! =)

I like the lights the best!

Since I am going off tomorrow, I'm gonna post the few remaining pictures i took of Ho Chi Minh City.. ^.^

They have quite beautfiful parks over there..

This is just a small margin of the amount of motorbikes over here! They an abundance!!!

Took this when I was in the taxi! Rush hour!

They're all kinds of transportations over here.. There is the 'motorbike' taxi..

Enjoying life..

And the age old trishaw puller...

Waiting.. Waiting.. and Waiting...

They kinda scary.. Once they see you walking past them.. they'll come and pester you to sit on their 'vehicle'!!! >.<
So just put on a stern face and shake your head!

There are a lot of peddlers too.. Ranging from old woman selling drinks to young girls selling postcards! Its quite heart breaking too sometimes seeing an old frail lady carrying heavy boxes of can drinks. You can also easily spot middle age women sitting by the side of the road sitting on a small stool selling noodles. They'll have a pot beside them and a few bowls. That's their business! Din take any pictures though.. =(

This guy was quite cute! Hehe.. He looked straight into my camera!

Took these from my hotel room balcony!

Congested bustling city of Vietnam!

I love the tall tall trees the best!

Wont they topple down? Was my mum's main concern!

And one more thing.. Can someone please explain to me why there isn't any CATS in the city? Not even a single one. Is it just me imagining it or is there NO cats in Vietnam? What happen to all of them???

There's something fishy going on here..

Mystery... Kinda scary too...

All in all I kinda enjoy my trip over here. Especially since i started blogging, i see everything in a different perspective now.. Always thinking..

'Will these look good in my blog?'

I admit my photographing skills are not up to standard yet.. but hey.. the important thing is i had fun right!!! =)

Malaysia.. here i come!!!

Vietnamese and Spanish Food!

I changed my layout! Yup... A bit bored with my pink layout! Wat do you guys think? Better? Can see my pictures clearer too.. Right? Yes? Hehe..

Another round of photos again! Hope you guys dun get nauseated over soo much food! =)

This afternoon we went to this Vietnamese shop for lunch.

This is the 1st time i have eaten such food so it was really a very interesting experience. The minute you walk in to the shop, you can see an array of food displaying there.. sorry for those Muslims readers but this will not be a halal post! Hope you guys don't mind! =)

Kinda scary looking at it. We didn't order those though.. i just took the pictures for fun!

Them displaying everything!

This is kinda normal! Hehe.. chicken!

Roasted pork!

Pork sausages. Kinda reminds me of something else though.. long and hard..
But this is kinda short.. so... =P

Frog legs! >.<

I quite like frog legs.. but they have so many bones.. My mum said they looked like humans! With the thigh and everything.. Right Mum... >.< style="text-align: center;">Grass!

Notice the pepper? You're supposed to eat it together with ur soup! Really pepper-ry! HOT!!!

Imagine bitting into one. I couldn't swallow. Had to spit it out.. Sorry.. Hehe..

Then our dishes arrived!

Sotong/calamari! With mince pork inside.

Tiger prawns. Not sure cooked with what.

Small tinny winny rice grains. Can you see it? Very soft and fragrant.

For some reason, my parents called it the 'broken rice'. I have no idea why.

A whole feast!

Although it was an enlightening experience but somehow i didn't particularly like the food served over there. It taste weird. =( But my family didn't mind it though. They quite like it. And i always thought i was the adventurers one in my family.

I guess I was wrong! Boohoo...

For dinner, we went to this Spanish Restaurant. It is opposite Hyatt Hotel. So maybe you can drop by there next time you stay in Hyatt.

Very quaint little restaurant. 4 Floors!!! Shops here are all thin and tall... Like the Vietnamese Ladies! hehe...

The bar..

We basically only ordered 2 main dishes. My dad didn't really know wat to order.. so.. hehe.. still a bit hungry now!

Slices of very salt-ish bacon. Or ham..

It's called Jaman Liberico.. or something. Last one in the menu! Supposed to eat with bread. Or else.. I can still feel the salt in my mouth. =( Special though..

Jaman Lberico, pata negra... can someone explain to me wat's tat?

We had to wait for 30 minutes for the next dish. It was already stated in the menu. But it came like 45 minutes later. It was unique though.. seafood with rice. "Paella Marinera" -a classic spanish style dish with rice and seafood. There was crab, prawns, mussels.. not bad. I quite liked this.

I had to quickly shoot this before he started "spoiling" it!

See? Spoiled already!

Mum had calamari!

Compared to the rice this afternoon.. this was BIG!!

But i had crab. Wahaha... din know how to eat though.

I only know how to eat the "claws" hehe.. watever u call it! =)

Like i said. We only ordered 2 dish. Time for desert!

Chocolate Ice-cream!!!

It was just an okay ice-cream. I still prefer my Baskin Robbins back in Malaysia. This one was a tad sweet! I want my Baskin Robbins!!!

Chocolate Mousse Cake.

Notice the not so perfect cake? My mum hates it when she has to wait for me to take pictures. I wasn't fast enough this time. Boohooo...

It taste something like cheese cake though. But dad said it was mousse cake so.. no point arguing with my dad since he seems to be a professional. Yeah right!

One of the good things of ordering little food. You have plenty of space for desert! Wahaha..

Mr.Bull must be their mascot. But no bull? Wat did they mean?

Yup.. the shop's name is Pacharan. Reminds me of 'pancaran', malay word for light. or beam.. something lidat.

All in all it was quite a lovely experience. I would definitely come here again and try more Spanish dishes. But i think i really need someone to introduce me on wat is nice.. or else.. SALT-ish!!! Hehe...

Going back to Malaysia on Wednesday! Can't wait! ^.^
